I thought I loved you, it was just how you looked in the light.

About Me

First of all, down with this stupid friendship hierarchy where people are meant to compete somehow for their place on the page. Screw that. The friends I have here are all worthy people who deserve their turn at number 1, or I wouldn't have befriended them in the first place. I do not add to my friendship rolls without much consideration. However, I will put all of the power in your hands. I will arrange them alphabetically based upon your chosen handle. So, see how you are in control of your own destiny? :)
Multi sunt vocati, pauci vero electi.
Self Summary
I am relatively well educated, adequately employed, and on the way to becoming well traveled. I am also a kinky, carnivorous, mostly-healthy diabetic that tries to buy responsible products that don't destroy the environment or support evil regimes.
I love good words, mixing cocktails, hot towels from the dryer, and pointing out the inconsistencies in episodes of CSI. I also enjoy beautiful fonts, flawless formatting, and humorous diatribes.
What I'm doing with my life...
Livin' it, you know. I work more than I'd like. I sleep less than I'd like. I currently have a balance I can live with, though. I'd really like to be somewhere warm and sipping on a drink with some sort of fruit garnish or a flower in it. As long as it is served in the proper glass. Alternatively, I'd love to be mixing up some libations for friends for no good reason. Unless it has Crème de Banana in it. That stuff is just wrong.
I'm really good at...
Making things. Some of those include; drinks, crafts, Halloween props, and oatmeal chocolate-chip cookies. Oh, and I could probably kick your ass at Tetris.
I hope someday to add "amazing flair bartender" to this list, but then, someone will have to teach me to juggle.
The first thing people usually notice about me...
The first thing they usually comment on is my hair. Or my boots. Also, that I look waaay younger than I am. I've been told this is a compliment, but at 36 I'm tired of getting carded.
I spend a lot of time thinking about...
Depends on the day. Today: Why it always seems like you bring more back from a trip than you take with you. Even when you give a bunch of stuff away. I'm somewhat of a serial-mono-obsessive. Something will completely take over my brain for a few days, like that song that won't go away... then a new song comes along and I think about that constantly for a while.
I have also decided that I have an ongoing obsession with words. Where they come from, how they evolve, what they mean, how they are spelled, how to put them together in the most efficient and elegant way possible. I also love to learn words in other languages, especially Latin.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here...
I’m extremely empathetic. I love animals, especially their skulls. Unless they are still alive, then I have a soft spot for seeing them yawn. I tend to over analyze. There are songs that make me cry every time I listen to them. I sometimes get oddly clear flashes of intuition. I’m better at sticking up for myself in theory than in practice. My evil twin's name is Skippy. I love the sound of a switchblade opening. I have a serious thing for kilts. I talk to myself out loud. I also often talk to my cat like his brain isn't the size of a walnut. I probably want to edit your profile, if not for content, then certainly for spelling and punctuation. I usually stay up too late. I’m ashamed I know most of the words to SexyBack. I appreciate non-sequiturs. I can’t really think about 9-11, Darfur, the Holocaust, or the on-going plight of Native Americans without getting a pain in the center of my chest. If you use the word "gay" to mean something stupid or bad, you will piss me off *and* lose respect points. I’m damn-near militant about recycling, and I will audit your trash for proper sorting technique. I sometimes carry handcuffs in my purse, just in case. I love shopping at the Natural Foods Co-op, when I can afford it. I don’t shop at Wal-Mart, and I won’t go with you while you shop there, either. I've been to Burning Man once, with my Mom. I left in an ambulance.
You should message me if...
You want to be one of my "friends"
You are intelligent.
You are interesting.
You want to share cool words.
You want to teach me to juggle.
Caveat; I'm an editor, so my standards for writing exceed those of most people. Don't write to me as if you are writing a text message. I find it lazy and annoying. Also, I will judge you on your spelling.
