I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Wow, I know I've never been much of one to write these things in the first place, but apparently I also haven't updated thing since I just graduated and had yet to declare even one major, let alone both of mine.

For the requisite factual info I am nearly 22, 6'1'', husky, mod. hairy, and versatile (I kid, this being the info all those dating sites ask). I have now transfered from my amazing college: MiraCosta in Oceanside and am slowly workinging on my degree at San Francisco State University in both Art History and Theatre Design (scenic design, dear lord not acting). I'm taking my time, learning a lot more than I would have if I had rushed through and gotten my degree in 4 years and I would have had a lot less experience. I don't consider this waisting time, nor am I anxious to "get my life started" because it already is. My life does not begin when I start a steady career, but it is going now, And I have fun, spend time with friends, have great artistic/cultural experiences as well as constantly set myself in a creative/intellectual learning environment with people I adore. what about that is waisting anything? I love my life.

I live in San Francisco, and only in Europe did I feel as at home. I desperately needed out of Southern California, and although I miss it in many ways, it's not my scene. I gush for this city, it's beauty, it's huge range of music, literature, arts, and my fav thing is it's completely cracked, random, and just a bit off kilter and twisted to make it fascinating. the people here are fucking nuts but in the most lovable way. And, there is never any lack of something new to do and explore, it's fast paced but also it makes sure to breath and slow down often. A beautiful balance.

So, those things are some of the things I value and carry around with me. I'm sarcastic and funny and able to laugh at myself and others when they laugh along, but really cherish the people in my life. I take care to surround myself with only truly amazing people and will do anything to defend them or just make them smile.

Little touches of humanity and human stories make me smile and my soul lift a bit.

I like games, of any variety, ranging to card and board games, to video games, to tag and hide and seek (all of the previous may or may not be played A) naked B) with drinking, for variety) I think it is a great way to experience the company of someone else.

I also like to just pick a random spot in the city I've never been too before and just walk there and wander around. I always end up finding something amazing I never knew existed.
When I have more money and less commitments, I like to do the same thing, just on a global scale.

I love different cultures and their arts and languages. I need to learn German and French for my degrees. I'm looking forward to it.

I want to be a teacher, I don't care what exactly but as long as it is one of the many things I'm passionate I want to help convey that passion to others and hopefully inspire them.

I want to create and express myself and my ideas

I want to put my arms around the people I love and just cuddle

And dammit sometimes I just wanna have sex

Yay for Eclecticism!

well, that's a bit about me, although there is always more to discover, if you want, just ask

My Interests

I like a wide variety of things. Like a passionate love for Theatre, deep movies (and some trashy fun ones) and profound literature. I'm extremely visual and love to create and investigate other's art. Pretty damn eclectic and fun loving here, so I'm game for trying anything once. could be something poetic, something kinky and some debauchery, or anything in between or outside of those.

I'd like to meet:

OSCAR WILDE!!!... oh um yeah, hmmm, he's dead. DAMN! I still wanna meet him though. anyways... Like I said, my interests are widely varied and I get along with many types of people. Anybody who has something actual to say, speak up.

Also see my Heroes below, and any creators of the works of any of the Music, Movies, or Books below.

Music:

Pretty much mainly love female artists for some reason. Ani Difranco, Sia, Imogen Heap, KT Tunstall, Poe, Melissa Etheridge, Anastacia, and Sarah Mclachlan are all fantastic mind blowing ladies with creating meaningful lyrics, rocking/moving/haunting voices and a magnetic personality who really care about what they do, fame or no fame.

Zoe Keating is the most amazing instrumentalist I've ever seen. The cello Naturally speaks to me, and her original method of weaving together layer after layer of lush passionate sound blow me away. Take everything that Zoe does, and add an orgasmic vocalist and you have the awesome SF band LoopStation. But I do love classical, Opera, and modern interpretations of these (including Electronica)

Vermillion Lies is my fav new band, weird, quirky, deep and thoroughly delightful describe their circus cabaret music. Love! And for raw energy and pure rock, it's now got to be The Dresden Dolls who pour all of their energy into what they gotta say and in their own unique way.

Movies:

Hedwig and the Angry Inch moves my soul as does Angels in America. Love Dark and Moody like Quills or Perfume: story of a Murdurer. Tragic makes me cry like La Vie En Rose and Wit.Elegant and simply uplifting is also magic, such as Garden State and Stranger Than Fiction.

I love so many movies for so many different reasons, here are some more: All About Eve (or anything with Bette Davis), Kinky Boots, Dressed to Kill, Stage Beauty, Victor/Victoria, Beaches, Devil Wears Prada, Little Miss Sunshine, Phantom of the Opera, Cabaret, Rent, X-Men, Kill Bill, V for Vendetta, Moulin Rouge, 300, Evita, Crash, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Neverland, Boondock Saints, to name a few.

Television:

Well I don't watch that much TV anymore, mostly when I do it's just the competition shows from Bravo or a good old sitcom to let my brain melt a little. Shows I liked in the Past include: ALIAS! Gilmore Girls, Judging Amy, Boston Legal, Joan of Arcadia, Simpsons, Family Guy, and Will & Grace, The Dead Zone, Tru Calling, the Practice, Family Guy, and all those old Nickelodian shows: Salute Your Shorts, Clarrisa Explains it all, and especially ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?!

Books:

soooo many good books, makes this by far my hardest thing to write about: The Count of Monte Cristo, Picture of Dorian Grey, anything by Oscar Wilde is magic. To Kill a Mockingbird, Fast Food Nation is eye-opening, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, Siddhartha, Herman Hesse, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and many many more...

I have a healthy fantasy/sci-fi addiction as well. Garth Nix (Sabriel, Lireal, Abhorsen, The Seven Towers, Keys to the Kingdom) is fantastic as well as Patricia Kenneally-Morrison and Diane Duanne (so you want to be a wizard).

Amazing Playwrights include: Arthur Miller, Thornton Wilder, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Jean Genet, Sartre, Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Oscar Wilde, Sam Shepard, Brecht, Pinter, and others.

Heroes:

Oscar Wilde!!! Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, the Marquise de Sade, Ramses the great, John Stewart, Ani DiFranco, Poe, Robert ParkeHarrison, Jean Paul Sartre, Renee Magritte, and the Buddha, My Grandmother, and my friends Katie, Benji, Virginia, and Tara. as you can see, these are in no particular order, except for Oscar Wilde.

And there are many more
