About Me

I live with two ladies who won't let their loud snoring contest drop.

My Interests

Food, conversation, good surprises, not having to wait for surprises, market forces.

I'd like to meet:

.

Music:

Doo-wop, Ike & Tina, and the Sublime Frequencies keepers.

Movies:

Hairspray, Happiness, Happy Gilmore, Lon Chaney movies, Harold Lloyd movies, Mon Oncle, Modern Times, the first half anyway, Night at the Roxbury, Aguirre The Wrath of God, Chinatown, The Tin Drum, Ran, His Girl Friday, Sullivan's Travels, Meet The Parents, Cock E.S.P. Back In Black & Blue, Jackass, the poem in Ladies' Man, and the part in Billy Madison where Adam Sandler apologizes to Steve Buscemi.

Television:

Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dog Whisperer, Prime Time Glick, Jagad Guru public access broadcasts from the Pacific Rim, Little House on the Prairie.

Books:

David Antin books are fun. So are Dean Young books. Everybody says they like David Sedaris for a reason: he is funny. I like looking at illuminated manuscripts. I have limited patience for recipes, poetry, The Novel, instructions, and daily planners. I am not fluent in math, or, at least, I am stronger on concepts than mechanics. Though my English grammar is decent, I can't fake my way through explaining the rules. I was bad at flashcards when I had to memorize bible verses, and I am still bad at flashcards when I could be learning languages.

Heroes:

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, although I don't watch basketball, smoke pot, or consciously adhere to Islamic principles. The late Minnesota governor Elmer Andersen sounded pretty great on NPR.
