Runner up as Best Male DJ in Brighton :-)

About Me

I AM GOING FOR A NEW IMAGE SOON........---- IN THE MEANTIME, Draw whatever conclusions you like after you see this profile..... You will be WRONG every time ! ----- LOL........... -----------I am originally from London (Born in Earls Court!), but have lived in EAST SUSSEX (1 hour from London) since 1998... I am a DJ, but not a Brighton DJ, as I beat my own drum and do my own thing. ------------The whole Dj-ing thing is something I have wanted to do since leaving the music industry in the 90s, and in spite of difficulties, I was voted as runner up for Best Male DJ in March this year, (i'm still not sure how that happened)..... but now i'm running with it... I do have a hard hitting porn/sexual PR pitch (which comes recommended by my PR - LOL), but all that is because I am 38 and not 25 years old, so have little time left to get out there and make a mark with a vengeance.... I am not planning to make much more of a mark in Brighton as I have done this now and the Brighton scene is too aggressive and out of touch... I am also not a fan of 'washing machine' or 'roadworks' Electro music which has taken over. I like variety, including tribal, latin and commercial house mixed in together, but suitable for all ages!! this is why i have done well up to now. ----------- I have done Brighton now and made my mark here, Brighton by the sea collectively is great as a city, and great for a tourist, but unless you can make it work for you, trust me, you wouldn't want to live here, unless you love the sea - as I do! I am good at what I do, and then I go home--- Thats it! LOL. There is more life in other areas of the country, and beyond! I plan to find this out. Most of my true friends are in London, and now that I have settled in my house, I am going back to work in London, at least for night work :-)))IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT I DO, PLEASE CONTACT ME DIRECTLY. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WHERE I HAVE PLAYED YOU CAN GET THIS (OR CONTACT INFO)FROM ME OR THE VENUES I HAVE PLAYED AT. THERE IS LITTLE ON OFFER IN BRIGHTON ANYMORE AS THE SCENE IS WAY TOO FRAGMENTED, AND NOT NICE. IF YOU WANNA KNOW SOMETHING? GET THE INFO FROM ME ! THE COUNTRYSIDE OF EAST SUSSEX IS BEAUTIFUL AND TO BE BY THE SEA IS ALWAYS JOYFUL, BUT THATS THE ONLY REASON I LIVE DOWN HERE. The rest of my life is private, and i guard that and what i do zealously.www.justink-dj.co.uk

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet anyone who fires my imagination to see where it takes me. That is what drives me.

Music:

SOME VENUES COVERED IN THE SOUTH; (A lot of MEN ONLY venues!) THE BULLDOG (a surprisingly interesting place to work, with the nicest chilled people ---- Well, That is after the aggressive ones have left!); ANVIL (I have had enough of men's butts hanging out of chaps!), STORM (the best - but now gone): CANDY BAR (Always fun): BRIGHTON PRIDE, (fun, until the GHB overdoses start in the park...!) V2 (never again!); BRIGHTON ROCKS; (nohere near as good now that Bianca Heard - the late manager - left this earth in Barcelona); VICE; (odd place but I hope it continues again) THE STAR INN. (A Bears pub & I Felt like a twiglet in a bag of sausage rolls here...) & SHAFT - The final Brighton men only venue I intend to play at. ------------------------------------ I have worked for so many record labels in the past and loved every second minute of it. Polygram (now called Universal) being the best, A&M Records, EMI plus other smaller labels - but I have fond memories of A&M.-----I have a website which is about to be updated: www.justink-dj.co.uk . ---------- I am lucky enough to have dj'd at the places I have but now its time to expand as the Brighton scene is tiny right now and there is not much happening ! Now I am going back to my home town (London) and abroad. I am also in IBIZA & AMSTERDAM later in the summer. -----------Writing about music is also a favourite of mine too and I have a music column in a very sexy gay magazine (BELOW!)!MAY'S CHART.--------------1. Beyonce - Ring The Alarm. - This track is now central to everyone's playlist, and the first to go back up to number One ! The best Beyonce tune EVER, and the build up to the beginning of the vocal on this track is amazing. ------------------ -----------2. Atrium – In Love With You. This is a beautiful tranch-ish track, highly under-played. But this one will build and build. ----------------- 3. Dada Feat. Sandy Rivera & Trix – Lollipop. Stand by for this one..... This cheeky simple electro track is going to be HUGE ! ---------------- 4. Infernal – Self Control. Who would have thought that the makers of Paris To Berlin (UGH!) could come up with a remake of an 80s classic. However, there is only one remix of this which screams mainstream for me.------------- 5. Alex Gaudino – Destination Calabria. This is a total crowd pleaser -------------------------- 6. Just Jack – Starz In Their Eyes. There have been some mixed reactions to this track being played. Better for the straight club scene, than the gay scene. ------------------ 7. De Souza feat. Shena – Guilty. This has been turning slowly into a Hed Kandi classic for some time. ------------------ 8. Therese – Feelin' Me. The lady of 'Put 'Em High fame keeps on building. ----------------------- 9. Erick E – The Beat is Rockin'. Its still 'rockin' but its going down & out now! Still prolific on the scene though. ----------------------- 10. Beyonce & Shakira – Beautiful Liar. This has been in circulation for some time, but its only now that I have discovered it. A combination of the 'Bootie' and the 'Hips'. The sexiest ladies in pop. Also, watch out for Shakira's track, Illegal. -------------------- 11. Stonebridge – SOS ------------------------- 12. Prince – When Doves Cry. A fantastic electro version supports this old track, making it totally up to date------------------- 13. Sara Jorge – Beautiful World. What started out as a club hit in Ibiza last year has hit the charts over here, with remixes, but the original is still the best. ------------------------------- -14. Amanda Lear – Queen Of China Town. This has 'Queen's anthem' written all over it. ------------------------------ 15. Booty Luv – Shine. This is the season where Hed Kandi really start to shine with all their new releases. ------------------------16. Funkerman feat. Fedde Le Grand – Wheels In Motion. Fedde is the one to watch this summer--------------------------- 17. Guilia Seigel - Dance-------------------- 18. Discokris – Star Future.---------------------------- 19. The Cooky Factory- In Da Club. I LOVE this track so much, but I think the Bulldog have heard this enough from me now! ---------------------------- 20. Seamus Haji – Last Night a DJ saved my Life (remixes). --------------------------
