Void In Version

Welcome to the Void, won't you come on in?

About Me

A Void In Version has existed in every decade, every era, every epoch, since our earliest ancestors discovered the bliss and fulfillment derived from the making of music. The current incarnation of this age-old lineage takes root in the four-piece rock group from Toronto, Ontario, Void In Version. This band was formed not for money, not the fame, extravagance, or brandy glasses filled with a thousand green M&M’s; this band was formed strictly for the making of anthemic, mind-shattering, fist-pumping music.
Void In Version was formed in 2005 when guitar-toting, York University music student Jordan Mandel was approached by aspiring vocalist Aaron Gonsalves with the hopes of a collaboration reaching beyond the run-of-the-mill, dime-a-dozen rock ‘n’ roll with which we’ve all become too familiar in recent history. Chemistry was instantly recognized between the two and they embarked on a journey along the road of musical discovery, as well as their search for a rhythm section to fill the missing pieces of the Void In Version puzzle. That search ended in a momentous meeting between drummer/percussionist Eric Lifson and the two aforementioned band members. With the addition of mutual friend and bassist, Aaron Kucyi, the parts were now present to yield an expansively greater whole.
Fast-forward two years and we find a blooming and maturing musical entity with a recorded demo and a live show with the energy and dynamics for which every rock fan yearns, but so rarely receives. The band’s music combines influences ranging from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Rage Against the Machine, Tool to Tom Petty, Neil Young to Nine Inch Nails and everything in between. This is not to say that Void In Version’s music sounds like all of this or like none of it. As any true music fan can attest, music can never be described in words. This bio only takes you so far – the rest is up to you. The band will be with you the whole way, to live and love, experience and entertain.
Nothing and everything. Yin and Yang. Void In Version is just that. You’ll make sense of it, or you won’t… get enlightened and get experienced. Void In Version is with you here on out.
