My Interests

I got into Marine Biology through keeping fishtanks and working at an aquatics store, although I don't have much of an aquarium at the moment, it's still something I'm interested in.Because of that I got into Scuba diving, so far I've dived in the red sea (Egypt) and the Caribbean (Honduras)I go to a lot of gigs (I try for at least one a month but preferably more) - See my music tastes for very detailed stuff. Due to this I can often be found at various dives and rock clubs in and around london.Other than the diving I am in no way a sporty person, running for a bus has got me into almost life threatening situations, so I'll stay lazy thank you very much.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

I mostly listen to rock, especially metal and punk - Korn, Soulfly, Sepultura, Machine Head, GWAR, Crowbar, Down, Fear Factory, Clutch, Devil Driver, Hatebreed, SOAD,Insane Clown Posse,Bloodhound Gang, Less Than Jake, Rancid, Transplants, Capdown, KING PRAWN(miss those guys)SONIC BOOM SIX , Soalbeat Alliance, Presidents of The USA, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Lacuna Coil, Rage Against The Machine, Skindred(kicks ass live!)Audioslave,Threemovements,Deftones,Prodigy Placebo.... and the list could go on.But I'm not just caught up in the rock scene, I also love Regge,Ragga,Soca and soul. Some dance music (but here I can be very picky) some drum&bass, trance, techno, house, I love a bit of old school hardcore (late 80's - mid 90's) hip-hop. Check out Hybrid, Lab4,Kid koala, Mr. Scruff, Aphex Twin, The Orb, Orbital, LTJ Bukem, JUNKIE XL etc. Plus to scare some people - Gabber & SpeedcoreMy only truely hated music types are cheesey eurodance, R'n'B, BritPop and most garage and boyband pop crap.

Movies:

I am a big horror fan, especially dodgy low budget eighties stuff (BUD THE CHUD!)Return Of The Living Dead 3 (it's like romeo and juliet with zombies!!!) Troma films . The Hellraiser series is brilliant! And old creature features like the Godzilla movies. Plus I like stupid stoner type movies (BIODOME rules!). oh and weird science (kelly le brock was sooooo hot in that!) Anime is cool (Cyber City Oedo 808, Ninja Scroll,etc.) I buy DVDs quite often and I tend to go for weird stuff that people may not have seen, so it tends to be foreign stuff (Old Boy,Audition, Pans Labrynth, City Of God, Once Were Warriors, Ichi The Killer are all good) But sometimes you just need a good cheesey martial arts action flick (Segal, Van Damme, Lundgren, Snipes, Jet Li, Marc Dacascos, Bruce & Brandon Lee,Christopher Lambert; all lords of the genre) Please check out Showdown In Little Tokyo - it starred Brandon Lee, Dolph Lundgren, Tia Carre and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. and it has some of the greatest one-liners ever heard in a film: "That time I heard you coming". Bloody Brilliant!Oh Yeah, Porn is good too, watch more porn :P

Television:

Aniimated stuff rules: Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy,King Of The Hill, South Park all are great.And not to forget the amazing Beavis & Butthead! Gotta love Prof. Frink,Ralph Wiggum, Cletus (the slack jawed yokel) and comic book guy from the simpsons and Zoidberg, Morbo (the news monster and Scruffy (the janitor) from futurama.Other than that, I've got quite into Oz (brutal prison drama) Teachers, Game On(TEA MARTIN!) , Spaced, Top Buzzer, The Young Ones, Bottom(british sit coms) Scrubs is pretty good on the U.S. front.For brain food there is a show called Tribe on BBC2 where this English bloke travels round staying with different remote tribes living as they do and he usually gets to take some of their drugs that they use in rituals and stuff, so it's really cool.Oh and recently we have TIME TRUMPET, it really is very very funny, so try and watch some if you can find it! I got the boxset of Peep Show on DVD and that is really funny too!Anyway, I watch all kinds of crap,but these days I don't watch as much TV as I used to

Books:

Horror again!Brian Lumley's Necroscope series has been keeping me busy lately (it has vampires, spies, sex, werewolves and ESP talented people - what more could you want?) I've also started reading some other Lumley stuff, and it's generally all very good.James Herbert: One sick monkey but all very good.Bret Easton Ellis has done some good stuff. Hunter S Thompson (RIP) and Hubert Selby Jnr. are some other talented if slightly disturbed yanks. Chuck Phalaniuk has written some really cool stuff. If you have the time and patience then check out The Illuminatus Trilogy for a weird paranoid fairytale. In the land of non fiction: Tony Hawks (not the skater but a Brit comedian) has kept me entertained and laughing with his books which usually involve him taking on a very odd and fruitless bet, but meeting a great range of characters along the way.I also have a fair few books on tropical fish and corals, but I guess they're more of a reference thing, some of them were bloody expensive though!Oh and I suppose I should mention Tolkien (I only bothered with LOTR, but it was really good). Generally nothing too high brow - Machevelli is about as deep thinking as I ever got.Principia Discordia . It's the bible for Erisians so check it out.
