Amodali is an experimental vocalist/musician. Using voice as a medium for the exploration of magic, trance states, & esoteric sexuality. Creating sonic sculptures, primal vocalisations, that form a bizarre vocabulary of ecstatic, magical realities. Tracks feature a mixture of analog and digital sounds, forming a visceral curtain of noise and electronica. ...Searing soundscapes from the hinterlands of consciousness.
Inspired by the D.I.Y. ethos and emergent cut-up, sampling and montage techniques of punk/experimental bands of the Punk era such as Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle; and krautrock influences of Kraftwerk, Cluster and Neu. Amodali began as a synth player with several Liverpool based bands including a collaboration with the Royal Family and the Poor' on an album released by Factory Records.
She is most often associated with the ten year project Mother Destruction', created in collaboration with Patrick Leagas/6 comm. 'Mother Destruction' was a vehicle for Amodali's vocalisations and performances based on explorations of 'seidr' or 'Seething', a form of Nordic Shamanism.
Mother Destruction released four studio albums and one live album during the nineties.
