Crafting ( I am currently knitting countless dishcloths, Emily's mittens for next winter and a Dark Mark illusion scarf, which is the coolest thing ever), reading, sleeping, crafting some more, shopping, road trips (during which I will craft in the car), singing (badly), lying on tropical beaches, snorkeling, and drinking (not around the kids). I also LOVE baking. I like decorating cakes. Yeah. I like bowling. I love EVERYTHING Harry Potter, because I'm a dork. I knit, crochet, sew, make jewelry, and scrapbook, among other crafts, but those are the ones I do most. I love to swim, play board games, poker, and sleep. I have dreams of being organized, and occasionally they come true, but only for a day or two before everything goes to hell again. I have recently started reading up on true crime and criminal profiling... I'm not sure why, except that I've found while watching Criminal Minds that my knowledge of serial killers was sadly lacking. Yeah.
I'd like to meet:
JK Rowling, Debbie Stoller, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. People who have the following folders in their bookmarks: Cupcakes, Harry Potter Knitting, and/or Nintendo Cakes. People I went to school with, whether we were friends or not. I've discovered that a lot of people I couldn't stand in high school are really fun people. (I stalk blogs. Muah-ha-ha!) Ummm, Craftsters, people in my area, especially with kids - a lot of my friends I don't see much because we've got four kids and they don't have any. Bonus points if your kids are the same ages as mine, and if they already know each other. Umm, yeah... Pretty much anyone, I guess.
Music:
My current obsession is the Sweeney Todd soundtrack. Musicals = good. Musicals about serial killers = freakin' awesome. I like Green Day, Cake, Cowboy Mouth, System of a Down, Jimmy Buffett, Dixie Chicks, Phantom of the Opera soundtrack. WIZARD ROCK!!! especially the Whomping Willows, Draco and the Malfoys, and Harry and the Potters. I like POTUSA, The Refreshments, Lisa Loeb, The Killers, Panic! at the Disco. "Wierd Al" Yankovic. The Wicked soundtrack. I recently found my Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives CD, I was very, very happy about that. I like some of everything, really. Except rap. Rap sucks.
Movies:
I have actually found lately that when I watch movies, I look at knitted and crocheted items rather than what is going on in the scene. I think the HP costumers actually put in more knitted and crocheted stuff simply because there are so many people copying them. Warner Bros. could make a friggin' fortune if they put out a book of patterns. Anyway, I like: Harry Potter (I totally love Alan Rickman, despite the fact that he's older than my parents), Pirates of the Carribean (Johnny Depp does gay pirate so well...Hmm...), Love Actually (my favorite movie of all time - the only chick flick that doesn't make me feel totally dissatisfied with my life when it's over. lol), Lord of the Rings, 50 First Dates, The 10th Kingdom, anything incredibly stupid - Monty Python, any Kevin Smith movie (especially Dogma), Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Napoleon Dynamite. The Big Lebowski is one of the greatest movies ever. The Corpse Bride and the Hannibal Lechter movies. I totally love Sweeney Todd.
Television:
Criminal Minds!!!! Ace of Cakes, LOST, Grey's Anatomy, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken. Law & Order:SVU, Dead Like Me. Dexter is pretty good. I love Ghost Hunters, and crime shows. And the food network. In hi def. Yeah, baby.
Books:
Harry Potter, anything by Christopher Moore, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - I love that book so much I cried when Emily ripped it at age 2 lol. I love almost everything that Gregory Maguire has done, except Lost. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Wheel of Time, Angels and Demons, Da Vinci Code, Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, Stitch n Bitch books, anything crafty. Mason-Dixon Knitting, Charmed Knits. (I don't read much anymore unless it's a craft book.)I like A Series of Unfortunate Events, even though they're written at a first grade reading level. Wow, I like a lot of kids' books.... I'm not a moron, they're just good stories. lol My secret shame - chick lit. I really like Jane Green and Sophie Kinsella. I usually take chick lit out of the library, but I've actually bought some of their books. Hey, at least it's not Harlequins. I read a lot of magazines -- Interweave Crochet (and Interweave Knits), Threads, Knit.1, Taste of Home, the occasional TV Guide if someone from LOST or Criminal Minds is on the cover (I know it's pathetic, and I've made peace with it...). Plus cereal boxes, CD inserts, and anything I can get my hands on whether it interests me or not. (No, I will never use that information on how to improve my golf swing, but I know it now, because there was a golf magazine next to me.)
Heroes:
People who can think for themselves.
