About Me

Greetings & Salutations, kiddies!! My name is Chance Raspberry . . . indeed, that is my real name. I'm a down-to-earth, easy-going sort of fellow, and I love to laugh almost as much as I love making others laugh. Hopefully romantic, naturally optimistic, sincere, nostalgic, fun-loving -- I am what I am. My word is my bond. If you're sick and tired of mind-games, you've come to the right place! Loyalty runs to the bone with me and I care deeply about people's feelings. To put it simply, I live my life from the heart.

My #1 passion is animation! It's an art form that moves me (forgive the pun) like no other, and in a way, it's like playing God -- I bring things to life. For DVD money, I work full-time as a character layout artist on The Simpsons, and in my spare time, I help teach character design at The Animation Academy in Burbank, CA (check out their NEW BLOG !) It's fun, it's free, and it keeps me creative...cartoons are my life!

As far as preferences go, I adore the classic, "Golden Age" animation of Walt Disney, Max Fleischer, Don Bluth, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Walter Lance, and Chuck Jones (to name a few.) Some of my contemporary favorites include Ren & Stimpy, Johnny Test, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, Rocko's Modern Life, and the FOX Sunday Night Line-up. When it comes to Anime, I like it old-school...then again, I like ALL the old-school!

Comics are great, too. Books, strips, graphic novels...they all touch my heart. The EC comics series of the 1950's -- Tales, Vault, Shock, Haunt, etc. -- are all delightfully creepy and heavily inspirational. Characters like The Maxx, Bone, and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac are definitely at the top of my list, and as far as the Sunday strips go, Matt Groening, Bill Watterson, Jim Davis, Mike Peters, Jeff McNelly, and Bill Amend are all personal heroes.

That being said, the only thing in life that rivals my love for animation is my love for music. I can't get enough -- writing it, playing it, and especially listening to it! Musically speaking, there's nothing out there I won't try, but my top 5 genres would have to be 80's (pop/rock/metal/new wave/synth/electronic/etc.), Metal (epic/power/fantasy/black/etc.), Punk Rock (punk/pop-punk/power-pop/etc.), Emo (emo/indie/etc.), and Jazz (all of it.)

When it comes to my own music, I'm a product of the 80's and it shows!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE 80's!!! My first band had me singing lead vocals and playing rythm guitar...that was 1998. Wow...Happy 10th, guys! From there, I joined The Longing as their lead guitarist, and eventually wound up doing the same along with some backing vocals for My Love Affair. Lately, however, I've been writing and composing some of my own music.

If you care to check out any of my TUNES or TOONS, they can all be found @:

Hmmm, well I think that's about it...oh yes, but one last thing: I completely and utterly adore HORROR films. I really like being scared (which seems easier said than done) and seeing how others react to the movie! So I guess in a not-so-summarized nut-shell, that's me. Any questions?
