Starr James was born in Decatur, G.A., a city less than 20 miles from the capital, Atlanta. Run DMC first influenced her with the invasion of hip-hop back in the 80's. Her 1st writing experience began when she was merely 8 years of age. In the early 90's, Starr James teamed up with a group named D.S.A. in which she went by the name of Da Southern Ms. to pursue more underground musical interests. At the end of 2004, she self-released Da Kandi Ladi album which was a great introduction to the underground scene. Now, as a solo recording music artist, Starr James is working with accomplished producer, Antonio Forever Mobley.

........................Artist Herstory----------------------Since 1994, Starr James has been performing professionally in local bars and clubs. In 1996, she performed at the annual Playa of the Year, extravaganza held at Club Flava in Stn. Mtn., G.A. With group, D.S.A. she opened for rapper Luke of 2 Live Crew in Atlanta at the Atruim. 2002, Starr James won several times at weekly talent show held at Club 112. That experience led to weekly-televised Underground Market Video show. Starr also featured on Silks 2003 self-released album, Silk Tyme, which was a great introduction to major crowds. 2005 Atlantas Undergrammy Rap Artist of the Year that premiered on UPN and the Creative Loafing!!! 2006 Look for Starr James to make a major impact on the hip-hop industry............................Artist Recording Resume----------------------------------
