People call me Chris, Hristos, Disco Hristo, Disco, Greek - It's all good, a name's a name (I don't care what you call me because I tend to forget people's names 30 seconds after they introduce themselves to me, but I remember faces). Currently, I'm one of the resident DJs @ Birmingham's #1 dance club - CLUB 1120 ! I like to go to Greece in the summer for 2-3 months visiting family, meeting new friends, DJ'ing, and chillin'! I can't wait to go back for summer 2008! I laugh and smile a lot - so a lot of people don't take me seriously. I've been told my celebrity look-alike is Adrien Brody and Manu Ginobili (I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing?) and when I wear a wig I have a striking resemblance to Howard Stern. I am 25 years old and running somewhat of a business called Disco Hristo Productions - I'm an entrepreneur of all sorts!! I'm a Greek DJ part time. My specialty is modern and traditional Greek - I am also pretty good with Disco/Funky/Electro/Pop House too. I'm not the best DJ skill wise (just average), but I think it's my knack for playing the hottest tracks and a knack for making them fit together that separates me from most. Sometimes i'll totally miss a beat, but then again, I play a different set every time I'm on the decks which means that sometimes I'll mix in a song i've never mixed or heard but only one time before, so shit happens. I try to create an environment with the music that I play. I try to give the crowd something they recognize, something that's ear candy, or something that they'll like the first time they hear it. My mixing style is my entertainment. I can go out and play a set of house music for a large crowd, with flawless mixing waiting for intros and outros, but the crowd wouldn't get into it and i would be just another DJ. So what would be the point? I think it's all about keeping a crowd on it's toes by literally slamming track after track in a fast paced way while keeping the beat matched that matters the most. I think that's entertainment value! We've all had our bad nights and our good nights - we have our strengths and our weaknesses and most can spot our own mistakes. It's enjoying what you do and the people there doing the same that matters the most! That's my 2-cents on my hobby of dj'ing. I'm a firm believer in enjoying what you do for work. I think people shouldn't work too hard, we only live once. So... more about me. I'm pretty smart... really sharp with a photographic memory like no other.. smarter than you would think and difficult to deceive.. haha.. test me if you want (I enjoy a challenge every now and then)! When other kids were watching Sesame Street, I was watching Jeopardy. I like to sit back and people watch - I try to figure out what people are thinking. It's a game I play, but I'm not very good at it yet. I'm not perfect, but a perfectionist. I come off as shy to those whom I don't know - don't be offended because you don't want to get me started talking. I don't do drugs or smoke cigarettes, never have... (I usually distance myself from them. So if you like to get "f**ked up" or "high" don't even bother). If you can't enjoy life being sober, you aren't my type and you're probably immature. I only drink occasionally (most preferrably Jack & Coke, Scotch & Water, Ursus, and Smirnoff North (the latter 2 which I can't find here) and you'll never find me wasted (well, only on special occasions and just a little over-talkative - not drunk). I'm bilingual (English/Greek) and can communicate a little in Spanish. I don't take crap from anyone, but I'll walk away from a fist fight. I don't date gold diggers, whores, sluts and bitches so if you're one or more of the mentioned, don't even bother (haha.. who am i kidding? - I love them all to some extent, but I'm difficult to win over!). I'm picky - I get turned off by ho's pretty quickly! I don't like trashy girls or stuck up girls - for me, they do absolutely NOTHING! Same with high maintenance chicks and girls who think their shit don't stink. I choose CLASS any day over ASS! I like girls who are into their culture and roots and have values. I like people in general who know where they came from and are proud to express it. I like people who keep it real and say what's on their mind. I give most everybody 3 strikes before I cut them off. It's hard to give someone a strike, but if you get one, you'll know. I'm NOT a player like many people think and if you think I am, then obviously you have no idea. I hate being called HOT or HOTTIE. I'd rather be called a nice guy. I'm into fashion cause that's part of my job, but I tend to be GQ one day and sporty the next - i like it more in the middle though. I hate cell phones. I have one but rarely use it - so don't ever be offended if I don't answer it. I want to be on a Greek reality tv show and have sent applications to a few and even auditioned for another - maybe someday they'll pick me and that someday could be soon. Yes, I'm strange and more than likely a dork, but more normal than most and probably even more normal than you.
