About Me

*5/10/06 Update: Now all I do is get up at 9AM and study until midnight... that's it. Imipenum dosing in renal failure won't learn itself ya know! I take my licensure exam on June 6th, so if I pass, I'm official! Until then, you won't see me except at the library.*So basically, this is what my life entails. I wake up at 7am on weekdays to go to work at UCSF seeing patients. They trust me to manage their post surgical pain, but if I get to know them really well, I'll ask if they have, or know anyone who has vinyl records that I can have or buy. On Saturdays, I usually spend that with my wonderful lady. She really loves guinea pigs, so I love them too. Our female just recently gave birth to a small liter. Tons of fun. So we'll either lounge around the house with the piggies, or go to the lake & fish a little bit. On Sundays, I wake up at 6:30AM to hit up the fleamarkets around the Bay before all the dealers snatch all the good records up to sell on eBay. Sometimes I'll confront these people because music is meant to be listened to & shared, not to be used as a commodity. Now if I somehow find time, I will actually be able to produce some music. At one point, I thought I'd actually make it somewhere with this music thing, but sometimes things get in the way (like a career). The fact that my colleagues in music are also pursuing professional careers doesn't help the situation at all. So essentially, I'm constantly deciding between school work or Kool Herc--get it? I will graduate from pharmacy school soon, so I might go back to the music. I'll make one more strong push with this hiphop thing; so be on the lookout for a 2nd album. Go to www.nospro.com to see what I've been up to in the past 7 years.

My Interests

Sundays; because that's when I hit up the fleamarkets at 6:30AM, buy a crate of 45s for $10, then head out to the lake with my portable & try to hook a largemouth. I own about 5000 records, ranging from 60's jazz to 2006 "neo-soul." I'm trying to cut down to 2000, but that may require some tears.

I'd like to meet:

Old friends, new friends, MCs, producers, DJs, BBoys, Graffwriters, poets, people who give away records, doctors, pharmacists, and simple people with good character.

Music:

Immortal Technique, Nightmares on Wax, Zero7, Michael Buble, Blue Scholars, Fatback Band, Bobby Hutcherson, Organized Konfusion, Badmarsh & Shri, Jill Scott, Mokadi, Zion I, Edan, Beck, etc. Oh, and a ton of early 90's hiphop, but listing them makes me feel old.

Movies:

Goonies, Momento, Requiem for a Dream, Shawshank Redemption, Full Metal Jacket, Forrest Gump, Toy Soldiers, 28 Days Later, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Crazy Beautiful.

Television:

I'm a huge boxing fan. If you like Fernando Vargas, Zab Judah, or Marco Antonio Barrera, we can talk. If you're amazed at Fedor's hand speed, we can talk to.

Books:

Right now, I'm reading a lot of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutics books... fun.

Heroes:

People who followed their dreams...
