I am here for Friends

About Me

"Yes i'm a new world samurai and redneck nonetheless" or so i'd heard. I'm inclined to agree with that statement as i'm from Kansas, land of dorothy. I like Pickup trucks, own guns, have a cowboy hat, and sometimes drink coors light. Yet that doesn't render me "a hick". I swear. I crave culture in the many forms it comes in. Whether it be novels by Albert Camus or the study of Bushido, or listening to John Coltrane. I need to better myself to survive. For if I stop growing i might as well be dead. I work in a job that delivers little sunlight to me, so I think i have a permanent state of Seasonal Affective Madness surrounding my inner thoughts. I work with machines all day and not many people. So i spend all day pondering items such as man/machine relationships and whether Ibuprofen could come in tropical flavors.I live in an Amish community with my beautiful, intelligent lady friend and our four children. I'm a native kansan and love my state. I count myself as a liberal minded person. I'm a total geek when it comes to pop culture.

My Interests

Raising my daughters to achieve thier full potential and happiness in life is my number one interest. Aside from that I enjoy a host of activitys. Music and gaming are my big ones. See music for my interests there. I LOVE gaming, RPGs like Dungeons and dragons and Hunter: the reckoning. I am chairman and founder of THOR.We are a group who plays everything from D&D to Magic: the Gathering, to Heroclix, to Flames of war. We cover alot of gaming territory and i'm a huge geek on it. I also like the outdoors and enjoy camping with freinds and fishing all weekend. I also am a hunter (pheasant and dove mostly). I play disc golf quite a bit in wamer weather. I do some writing and have been dabbling in painting (Thank you bob ross!). I like electronics and computers. I also own a scooter that i tool around on for fun. I'm a regular at the comic book shops. Cooking has taken on an earnest place in me and currently i'm trying to learn as much as I can about Thai cooking. Coffe shops and conversations rank high with me as well. I guess in the end I just like alot of activitys and i find that the goal of life is to be well rounded and have experiences to remember and tales to tell. Why not is the slogan of the interesting life.

I'd like to meet:

**UPDATE-FOUND HER **Someone who can hold a conversation that doesn't revolve around some damnable drama. SOmeone who can be honest when it's hard, and if need be, listen to honesty. I'd like to meet someone who is empowered to be better than themselves and encourages that empowerment in others. I'd like someone who is active in thier life and likes to try new things and can sometimes be trusting and throw caution to the wind. Yet with that same token, i'd like to meet someone who is responsible and knows where her prioritys need to be and is not afraid to state that fact.

Music:

"Music is my life!" I've been told many times i should be a DJ for a radio station. I love music to the point of it being an obsession. I listen to just about everything under the sun. Whether it be the Death Metal of Amon Amarth or Dimmu Borgir to rawk bands closer to home such as Lamb of God.I listen to ALOT of metal and punk.Antiflag, pennywise, Rammstein, As I lay Dying...you name it i've probably got some MP3's of it. I also listen to everything from Emo to Country to Classical to soundtracks to Jazz to Rap to Alt.X I try to keep up with it all obsessivly. I have a huge CD collection and the advent of MP3's has ruined my storage space on every computer i own. I also recently got an XM radio and that isn't helping any (Yeah they brought back XMLM!!) I also LOVE going to see music live. Summer concert series in the park or a mariachi band at a restaurant or a Slayer concert its all good usually. SO if you've got something you think i should hear, pass it along!

Movies:

I'm a nut for Sci Fi and Anime but I'll give anything a chance once. Westerns, documentarys, foreign films, action, whatever. Of course my favorite movies are the Star Wars and Aliens saga's but i like lots of other films for reasons that are unique to each of them. From the Lost Boys to Star Gate to Out of Africa to A Fistfulll of Dollars. And with kids i've been rediscovering lots of classics of my youth like Emmet Otters jugband Xmas and The Jungle book. I even got the VHS of Private Eyes again!. I have a relative who was a film major in college so he keeps me up on all the avant garde movies i'll never see in a theatre so at least i can rent them. The best cinematic art of our times is sometimes VHS only. Go figure.

Television:

Generally I shy away from television as it's the tool of mass conformity and corporate mind control....but I do like to watch the following. The New Battlestar Galactica Aqua Teen Hunger Force Sea Lab 2021 Boondocks!. Stargate SG 1 Inu Yasha Full Metal Alchemist Headbangers Ball The Venture Brothers King of the Hill
Which Robotech Character Are You?
You are Captain Henry Gloval. Like all brooding stereotypes, you enjoy a good smoke now and then, especially after you've folded the Reflux Furnace into another dimension.
