Waz-Up FolksI am a 29 year old God-fearing man from Inglewood California. I spent 4 years locked up at St. Bernards High School, then headed to LAX for a baggage job. At 20 an older gentleman started working. I couldn't believe he wanted that job so I asked him, why? He told me that he just retiered from being an electrician at the Hieperian Plant in El Segundo. Then he flip the script on me, asking me what was I doing with my life. I promply excplained to him that I had no idea. So he went on to talk about construction and if I would be interested in working with my hands. He asked did I like plumbing or electricial, carpentry or masonary. I was about to walk away until he showed me his paycheck, 28/hr. I couldn't believe that an individual, with only highschool education, could make that much money. I wasn't into getting electrocuted, or swinging a hammer all day, so I picked plumbing. He told me about LA Trade Tech College, Downtown. The next day that cat didn't come to work, or the next day! This is the first testimony, that I can recall, of the Lord at work in my life. A couple
of months later, I attended Trade Tech and graduated 2 years later with an AA in Plumbing-believe it or not they have AA degrees for levels of construcion. I had got a comfortable job through the school for McMaster-Carr Supply company, but burnt my bridge there to enter into Local 761 Plumber's Union. I was on my way. Good training, fairly good people, excellent wages and benefits. But after 4 years of work, something was missing. The deal was after 5 years of union schooling and 5 years of work you would have enough hours to become licensed and in turn, a journeyman plumber, which is PAYDAY. But something was wrong, I had a beautiful wife, family, job, everything I thought I wanted. Something was not right though. One day, I got on my knees and prayed to the Lord for guidance. I never had a desire to pray before or ever wanted to. I asked for help. Be honest, I didn't think twice about the prayer. I didn't know God. I didn't desire, to know Him. Not more than 2 days later, on Friday, I was working as usual. A problem happened with the concrete in the steel tube. Now this 8 inch steel tube ran through the building to the the top floor,about 30 stories. The concrete stuck toward the top outlet PVC tube. The pressure began to build. The men at the top decided to unclog the obstruction with a lengh of rebar. The pipe exploded in thier faces, almost killing them. Unknown to us in the basement, there was still an air bubble inside the pipe. The workers came to the basement and took the 90 degree bend off the pipe. I told them mant times to wait until we were out the wasy. They didn't listen. A small amount of cement oozed out and all of a sudden- I promise yall-I saw death fly straight toward me. The blast threw me into a moving forklift which ran my foot over. I thought nothing about God until about a year later when i personally heard the voice of the Holy Spirit and He proceeded to explain many things and prophesied about things to come. I went through the law suit, got paid and now helping and sowing seeds where the Lord wills. But besides the money, the gift that I recieved from the Lord was the Truth of Him. That's a gift you can bank on!
