About Me

I hate doing these things, but its the one part of my Myspace that I havent worked on, so I figured I probably should. I easily obsess. It started with Nirvana when I was 9, and I usually cling on to my obsessions. They may die down, but they still remain. I could probably still tell you the full name's of the entire Hanson family even though I dont talk about them everyday like I did in 1997.
I enjoy collecting toys and DVD's. I have a huge collection of DVD's and a growing collection of Tim Burton toys. I love going into toy stores, and if I recieve a toy as a gift, you'd swear I was 9.
Im slightly closed off, and Im quite sure the reason is that I cant fully love other people, until I love myself. I always used to shrug it off when people said that, but I've recently realized that it's quite true. Although, I have a deep wanting to be open, so sometimes that is the winning emotion, and Im more open then I should be. I get hurt easily, and Im quite the drama queen.. which is a lethal combination.
I think in alot of situations, I place too much blame on myself. I've done that my entire life, and Im learning to fight that. Not to say that Im never to blame, but Im starting to see that its not always me.
Im really working on my outlook on life. Everyday I make a concious effort to be more positive. I used to let every negative thing bother me, and Im really trying to battle that. I try to laugh more, and enjoy life more. We're only here once, and I believe that we all have the power to make ourselves happy. I believe that everyone can go into any situation and look at it in a positive light, so that it can be enjoyed.
The line 'Forget Regret, Or Life Is Yours To Miss' struck me in a way that no other line from a song/movie/show has ever done before. In the past, I had a terrible problem with regret, and not doing something because I over-thought it and decided ahead of time that I'd regret it later. I know now that you cant do that. Sometimes you have to just jump, take the risk and find out later what the outcome is. By not doing that, I could be missing something amazing.
Im into: RENT, Hanson, Britney Spears, Good Charlotte, makeup, Jenna Jameson, The Sims, music, Pokemon games for Gameboy (rofl thats pretty recent), 'The Chronicles of Life and Death', MAC Cosmetics, livejournal, Diet Coke, Sour Cream&Onion crisps, Harry Potter, Tim Burton, Kelly Osbourne, Faeries, toys, tattoos&piercings, Nirvana, photography, computer graphics, Build-A-Bear, 'Sleeping In The Nothing', being a hermit, pop-culture, celebrity gossip, candy, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, candles, The Nightmare Before Christmas, J.K Rowling, jewelery, ProActiv, drummers, stars, mascara, Forever 27, money, pink, Ikea, teen novels, Napoleon Dynamite.
change the world, but be careful how you change with it.
I'm trying to read 50 books in 2007..

Heroes:

I had my mom in here since I signed up for myspace, and just because the text is changing, it doesn't mean that my feelings are. :)
Jonathan Larson was a remarkable man. He wrote one of the most amazing pieces of, and helped change, musical theatre. The timing of, and his sudden death was a major shock to everyone, but before he passed, he left us with his incredible story and music.
Rent was written and set in New York City in the late 80's. HIV was a "new" disease that was running rampant, and homosexuality was a taboo subject. Jonathon Larson was unafraid to tell the story of his friends, despite the fact that it could have failed miserably. The show could have become a period peice, and it ran the chance of losing it's relevance in years to come.
April 2006 marked the 10th anniversary of Rent onstage. The show's message rings strong through it's amazing music, and the incredible cast of people to play it over the years. A movie of the show was released in 2005 and brought in a whole new set of fans.
I decided to list Jonathon Larson as my hero, because his work changed my outlook on life. I try to live with the attitude "forget regret, or life is yours to miss." As hard as that can be sometimes. The music, message and incredible story of Rent is a genuine work of art.
Thank you, Jonathan Larson.
