"Radio, who needs a radio?"

About Me

Considering that I’ve been living as a Nashvillian for the last 2 ½ years or so, I thought it was finally time to update this thing. I love this city! I like anything to do with the outdoors but have horrible depth perception so anything requiring skilled hand-eye coordination is out(unless for the pure entertainment of those around me). I went hanggliding for the first time over the summer and immediately decided I’ll have to do that again many, many more times. Taking pictures is a passion of mine and I don’t do it often enough. I just bought a house and I think becoming a homeowner is about the best thing I’ve ever done. There’s a rooster that lives across the street and crows every morning, and the church 2 streets over has a bell tower that chimes on Sundays. But my favorite part is that buying this house ended my moving streak of 9 moves in 2 ½ years. Not to mention the omnipresent possibility that there could be another driveby shooting in front of my house at any moment. I love live music, family, and great friends, sitting around a fire when it’s really cold outside, coffee shops, laughing, fresh flowers, and playing in the park on a beautiful day. I want to travel. I want to live like nobody’s watching but find I care far more about what people think than I care to admit. I want to experience life as God intends it.

My Interests

Photography, Outdoorsy stuff (hiking, camping, etc.), Music, Local coffee shops, Interesting people

I'd like to meet:

People who want the same things out of life that I do, and people who want different things. Basically just good people that can make me laugh. And the guy that killed the 300 pound black bear by throwing a log at it - that guy must be intense. Almost as intense as the 72-year-old guy that knocked out the guy that was trying to pickpocket him in a convenience store. Although in that scenario I would want to meet the unfortunate pickpocket's cell mate. Mostly so I could ask him what the pickpocket said when he asked him how it felt to get his ass kicked by an old dude and then have it broadcasted all across America.

Music:

What's in my player right now? Mindy Smith. Other favorites: The Fray, Coldplay, Amos Lee, Ari Hest, John Mayer, Dave Barnes, Andy Davis, Matt Wertz, Sam&Ruby (big fan of the local acts), Allison Krauss, Martin Sexton, David Mead, Low Millions, Dispatch, David Mead, South... Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Louis Armstrong (love the classics - big band...)

Movies:

All-time top favorites: Dumb and Dumber, The Sandlot, The Goonies, Office Space, Big Trouble, Orange County, As Good as it Gets, Before Sunset, Say Anything

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, Family Guy, The Simpsons, King of Queens, Friends and Seinfeld re-runs, HGTV junkie - "Flip this House" anyone?

Books:

Currently reading "The Bookseller of Kabul"
