rugby, reading, theatre, watching most sports, big dogs (especially mastiffs), cooking (especially WITH someone, I think cooking together is very intimate),singing (badly, and off-key), playing pool (at which I am alternately brilliant and pathetic) wildlife rescue and conservation, animal rescue, human rights causes, sewing, working out, and SHOES.
Real people. Aspergian people or parents of Aspergian children. People who think. "Theatre People". People with big dogs. Animal Rescue workers. People who play pool. Ruggers.
Jack Johnson, The Fray, Gin Blossoms, Killer Flamingos, Jamie Anderson, Sista Otis, Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Bitch, Melissa Ferrick, Ember Swift, Harry Chapin, Peter Paul and Mary, NIN, Joan Baez, Stephen Sondheim, Rascal Flatts, Tanya Tucker, Keith Urban, Bruce Springsteen, Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan (or better redos of stuff he wrote)..... Pretty much everything except old country, really heavy metal, or gangsta rap, the more "Acoustic" sounding the better. "Funky and Odd" is good.
Office Space, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Chicago... It's got to be good to hold my attention for 2 hours.
ER, Cold Case, The Office, WorkOut (I want to be Jackie Warner when I grow up), Judging Amy reruns, Law and Order, SVU, and Criminal Intent (but only the older ones with D'Onofrio, the newer ones suck). CSI (the original and Miami). Most of the "Animal Cops" type shows, even though they piss me off. I love the Discovery Channel, TLC, and I have a weird fascination with the Food Network. I watch the L Word, but don't actually care for it much. The best TV show ever made was Chicago Hope, and I'm sad that it's not on anymore.
Angela's Ashes, Tis, The Poisonwood Bible, Rubyfruit Jungle, Weekends with Maury, The 5 People We Meet In Heaven..... I will read just about anything, but I lean toward the "memoir-esque" variety.
It sounds cliche, but my mom. And anyone who faces the unknown with their head held high and a smile on their face.
