I like to meet people who are into the same things as me, as well as people who might turn me on to things I didn't know I liked yet. I think that maybe in the upcoming year or so I would like to find a mentor that I could follow and look up to in my search for a career in my field. I also wouldn't mind finding a date or two. :)
My musical interests vary widely. I don't mean this like most people's responses of, "well I like alot of music". Here is a sample of my likes:
These are Pittsburgh Local bands that I love to see and also have their albums:
there are more but I think this list is long enough.
I like seeing different styles of movies, especially since I want to do a few myself. I'm currently undertaking a huge epic that I'm turning into a screenplay and I'll see what happens from there. Independent movies are huge to me and I like to see the more obscure films that most people don't watch. I did see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory recently and I loved it, creepy yes, but I loved it. Movies that are on my favorites list include: Art House, Run Lola Run, Dark City, City of the lost Children, Amalee, I am Sam. I'm not going to list any more cause if you think my music list was long, well.......
My television crack is Law & Order SVU. I'll watch the other ones, but SVU is far better in my opinion. I'll watch a lot of TLC and Discovery Channel as well. I surf the TV alot, so there's tons of other shows I watch, but not on a regular basis.
I'm in the middle of "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". I've tried to read it before, but got more into it after going to the movie. I've also started on the Bachman novels. I read "The Long Walk". Someone told me that it could easily be adapted to a screenplay, but I doubt many people will want to sit through a movie that consists of 18-year-old men getting killed off one by one. You have to read the story to understand.
