A Blessed Tragedy started out more as a dream than anything else between Jeremy Lindsey, Nicholas Leighton, and former member Justin Orr in the summer of 2006. Each of them shared a love for God and a passion for music ministry. Knowing that they would all soon be moving to Minneapolis, they decided to start the band. Jeremy would play the drums, Justin would play bass and Nick would be on vocals. Upon hearing the idea for the band, their close friend "Mountain Man" Dan was excited to be added on rythm guitar, and soon after that, Matt Juntenen would be added on lead guitar. As a band it was decided that Justin would be a better fit for a second vocalist leaving an opening for a bassist. Jason McCormick would then soon be added as the new and final bass guitarist. After playing a few shows as a band of six, Justin decided to move onto new things and start college. The band continued playing until the summer of 07 when it was time for a short break. During that time, a huge turning event took place involving Nicholas. After much prayer and seeking, Nicholas decided it was best for him to head back home to Maine. The band decided to keep going even though it was really tough to see Nick leave. It was decided after trying out a few things that Dan would take over on the vocals leaving an opening for rhythm guitar. Mike Posegate was asked to come in to fill in while they searched for a permanent fixture and were glad to have him come on board. We have been so blessed this first year as a band and are still excited to see the work the God has ready for us to do. To sum everything up, A Blessed Tragedy is a ministry. We are not here to push a religion, but rather show the love of Christ and the hope that comes with it. Our hope is that at the very least, you would leave our shows encouraged.
