From actor at the royal Danish theatre to one of Copenhagens prefered djs. This is the story when having to describe Mr. Backhaus.
Backhaus spent his first two years dj’ing in metropolitan Barcelona playing smaller venues, though some are notorious in Barcelona clubbing such as www.macarenaclub.com he moved to Copenhagen in early 2004 where he has in only two years imposed himself as a strong contender among the Danish dj circuit. First off as a resident at now legendary and closed Luftkastellet, a beach in the heart of Copenhagen Port opposite the queens palace. Where music, sand, sun and lovable people all mixed perfect with the Eclectic musical experience of Rasmus Backhaus.
His abilities on the technics have gained him a monthly residens at the Mid Week Brakes, www.mwb.dk hiphop homeground nr. 1. in Copenhagen, where he does a 3 hour minimal technofunk session in the Bassment, called “no questions asked”, filling the tight bassment to the max with hiphop Copenhagen going down to the his minimal madness.
As well as his first guest appearance at number one club venue in Copenhagen www.vega.dk turned straight into a monthly resident sharing decks with international names such as Artificial Funk, Trentemøller & T.o.m., Al Lindrum,Tim Andresen.
When talking about his style of music, Backhaus has the ability to mold his sets to the venue and the specific nights, he ranges from pure chill out at bars and cafes to minimal tech house sessions with his everlasting trademark, filled dancefloors, happy vibes and loads of beautiful girls.
His more laidback musical vibes can be experienced at Bar Barbarellah, a combined latinbar/clothesstore, run by the Chilenian/Danish Bascuñan Family, where he is now also in charge of the booking side of things….a man with heart, a man with soul
