Generally the artists have backgrounds in graphic design, illustration or low brow art.Designer Toys first appeared in the 90's and as of 2006 is a growing industry.Maybe the most popular series of vinyl toy to come out thus far are the 'Dunny' series from US company KIDROBOT. Dunny are a series of rabbit shaped vinyl pieces illustrated originally by various graffiti, stencil, and comic artists and then, mass produced as a vinyl collectable for all.
