CLARIAS ROCKS IN THE SPACE WHERE JAM MEETS POP.
"Clarias is a band that I have been keepin' tabs on for about 2 years now. They have definitely grown into their own with a unique radio friendly and energetic sound."
-Jeff Juliano (Studio Engineer: John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Lifehouse, Ben Folds, the Dave Matthews Band)
"Songs like 'Heavyweights' and 'What I Cannot See' could be played on rock radio today alongside successful major label artists, and the listener would never be able to tell that these guys were unsigned...Clarias is sure to have great success."
-ThisIsModern.net (Plattsburgh NY)
Standing behind the curtain on the stage of The Schimmel Theater in New York City, Clarias knew they were onto something. While the sold out audience was there to see the headliner, Kanye West, the band knew all they needed was a shot for people hear their music. And they did. And an unlikely scene for pop-rock music turned into a standing ovation for this five-piece band from Boston.
Clarias makes music that combines radio-ready pop music, rock, jazz, and reggae resulting in a wide-spanning appreciation from many demographics. Decent Xposure Magazine has recently classified Clarias sound as, a band which undoubtedly separate themselves from the majority of pop-rock acts. These guys are not just a pop-rock band. They bring a little bit of everything to the table including a bit of funk and jam.
The band recently released their 2nd full-length album Lines to rave reviews. Lines was the 4th best selling independent album at Newbury Comics locations throughout New England during the first week of its release and in one month, tracks from Lines were added to over 60 non-commercial AAA and college radio stations across the country.
The release of Lines was a huge accomplishment across the independent AAA music scene. The album was produced by Matthew Ellard (Elliott Smith, Morphine, Weezer) and was mixed by Jeff Juliano (Lifehouse, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, OAR, Jason Mraz). The result was nothing short of perfect radio-ready rock.
Jtown Music says, "Lines" is well rounded; full of highs, lows, radio-ready jam band rock hits, and subtle calming ballads. The song Heavy Weights will inspire you." And ThisIsModern.Net claims, Songs like 'Heavyweights' and 'What I Cannot See' could be played on rock radio today alongside successful major label artists, and the listener would never be able to tell that these guys were unsigned. The music is tight and the lyrics are well written. Keeping on this path, Clarias is sure to have great success.
Clarias, like many rock bands before them, have earned their stripes by playing many college and club shows while promoting the band with the invaluable help of fan-based street teams. Theyve opened for acts like Kanye West and Steven Page of The Barenaked Ladies. The band has played hundreds of college campuses and traveled far and wide performing in places all over the Eastern US and as far west as Boise Idaho and Denver Colorado.
Clarias plays many shows in support of meaningful causes like Bostons Aids Action Committee, Walter McCartys I Love Music Foundation, Rock the Vote, Toys for Tots, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Massachusetts Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Right now the band is playing the college circuit and anticipates being back in the studio working with the top-notch production team to follow their already very successful Lines.
