Whats up! my name is James Garza. I'm a guitar player born and raised in San Antonio Texas. I'm a graduate from Southside H.S. here in SA. I married my H.S. sweetheart Nancy Jordan (now Garza), and we are still going very strong. Together, Nancy and I have four awesome kids, two of which have graduated, and two that are in elementary. Although we dont feel old, our oldest son made us grandparents and are enjoying it very much.I worked about 8 years in a cemetery, then 3 years in the U.S. Coast Guard before being diagnosed with leukemia. It was a hard long road but we pulled though it and have moved on.I am a disabled vet now and play guitar in a local band called "LAST CALL" which allows me to be versitle on different ocasions. Although rock is my passion, i like to dabble a bit with country and blues licks. Playing the guitar is simply in my blood.
I'm also known as a gear-head. I love to keep up and talk about the latest guitar gear on the market. I have a load of experience on guitar repairs and set-ups which i've done for local musicians here in S.A. for over a decade now.I play on MUSICMAN guitars and MESA/BOOGIE amps. They are pretty much the basis of my sound along with a little help from a Boss DD3 delay and a Boss CE5 chorus. My main guitar is a Musicman JP6 John Petrucci model in mystic dream. BEAUTIFUL! I special ordered it and i feel as though this guitar was custom built for my body. Its light, compact, comfortable, and plays like a dream. I also play a white Musicman Silouette that is very much like my JP6 and it rocks as well. I most recently retired my old Fender Frankenstrat that i hot rodded over the years, it just got too heavy. My age probably has alot to do with that.Thats a brief look at who i am and what i'm about. Some of my family and friends are in my friends sections as well as some of the people i admire in this business.
