About Me

"The best portion of a good man's life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love."
~ William Wordsworth
It's been a crazy few months. We were getting settled out here in Washington, where we LOVE to live, and our personal lives got a little crazy. ER visits, neurologist visits, medical bills... the whole shebang. We're still reeling a bit from all of the chaos, but when you have your best friend beside you, you can get through anything. I'm so appreciative of this life, and I'm kicking up my motivation to do more with it - family, school, writing, and maybe even job.
It's nice to be able to take a step back and look at where I am in the world, and really know that I am genuinely happy. I am happier than I have ever been, and the biggest reason why is my husband, Mike. Ever since meeting him five years ago, my life has had more meaning, more depth, and more love than I ever thought possible. I'm still head over heels for him, and cannot imagine a life without him.
I have so many good things right now - a fantastic relationship with my parents, great friends (even though they live in different states), a beautiful new house to grow into, a great little puppy, and my fantastic four kitties! Living in Washington has been such a positive move for us, and we're taking full advantage of the perks of living out here! We can't wait for our first full summer out here, with all of the street fairs, farmers markets, and Sea Fair on Lake Washington!

I'd like to meet:

You know, honestly, I can meet a lot of people, but only a few really know me. I think I've got the best people in my life - even if a few of them live a few states away. I am happily married to the man of my dreams, and really just love kicking back with him any and all nights of the week. I have two super close girl friends that are like sisters to me -- I'm so grateful to have such strong, resilient women in my life.
I'm always down to meet people who can expand my horizons and way I think. The spiritual (not religious) connections that we can make, and even reconnect with from previous lives and experiences, are things I look for in my daily life. You never know when you'll meet someone you already know.

I would love to meet more people who have Dachshunds! Mike and I got a miniature Dachshund puppy in November, and he's been the GREATEST little guy! He's terribly smart - and we have a video of him learning his new tricks, rolling over and shaking hands.

Music:

I love lotsa stuff, from NIN and other industrial, to trance. Personal favs are Fiona Apple, Juju, The Streets, Bran Van 3000, cheesey 80s pop, and down and dirty d&b!

Movies:

Sin City, Domino, Donnie Darko, L4yer Cake, Trainspotting, the Matrix trillogy, Star Wars, Event Horizon, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and all sorts of scary movies! My husband has gotten me hooked on zombie movies, so I have to add 28 Days Later, Land of the Dead, and basically anything by Romero.

Television:

The 4400, Heroes, Prison Break, and LOST are the worst addictions. PLUS Surface, Smallville, Americas Next Top Model, Real World, Road Rules (and any combination fo the two), VH1 reality shows, Simpsons, King of the Hill, and basically any trashy reality tv. It sounds like I watch a ton of TV, but it's not as bad as it seems!!

Books:

Many Lives Many Masters, The Riverworld series, Prozac Nation, The Kite Runner, The Education of Little Tree, Sorcerers Crossing, Dan Brown, and every single piece written by Chuck Palahniuk. If you haven't read his work - check him out on myspace. He's listed in my friends. Twisted and thoughtful in a dirty and brilliant way.

You're Watership Down!
by Richard Adams
Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you're actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You'd be recognized as such if you weren't always talking about talking rabbits.

Heroes:

My dad - cancer survivor. He's been through so much, and is am amazing person. I have learned so much from him, and can only hope to be like him as I grow through this life.My husband - he inspires me every day. I knew from the moment I laid eyes on him that I'd marry him, and every day I'm reminded of how amazing he is. He's made my life so much better, and makes me think and grow as a human being. We love each other without reservations or bounds - more than I ever thought possible. He is my world, my best friend, and my heart.

The holidays....

Sometimes it just amazes me how our life has unfolded and seems to be on a "meant to be" path. Things truly happen for a reason. My husband lost his job, they "upped his resignation" to a few days bef...
