Recent books I read and liked: "Almanac of the Dead" by Leslie Marmon Silko; "Reservation Blues" by Sherman Alexie - and I read parts of Jim Goad's "Shit Magnet" again, just for the heck of it. Abish's "How German is it", everything by Raymond Carver. And recently I've taken a liking to Bukowski, even though it seems to be generally agreed upon that he is usually read by 18-year-olds. But "Notes of a Dirty Old Man" is great, as are some of his poems. I'm not a poetry-person, though.
