The following is my premeditated, preconceptualized, idolized image of myself. I am up for sale and this is my advertisement. This is my prepared text.
I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia where I study acting and write about my observations from time to time. Most of my writings center around the semiotics of various performance techniques/philosophies and various issues of concern in the local theatre community. I aspire to make the performing arts my occupation, yet am ambivalent towards becoming anything that signifies the gelatinous, nominal abstraction of a "professional".
Through study and practice, I hope to discover a new perspective, function and approach to the theatre (or aspects that comprise it) or at least the ability to bring actors with opposing philosophies on performance together pulling in the same direction toward a common goal that best suits the work. I am particularly interested in integrating the latest discoveries in psychology, neurology and computer technology into a vocabulary for acting technique.
In short, I am just another twenty-something, female, sub-par actress with the equivalent of an open diary, vying for the attention and aid from other practitioners through a desperate veil of peusdo-intellectualism.
I overthink everything and then get really emotional about it.
