About Me

";We are a rock band from Columbus, Ohio... We love what we do and it shows both on stage and in all that we do. We write about life and all the things that make us, break us and build us up. We encourage people to go after their passions and forget what the everyone else says your life should be like. This is our journey. We hope you enjoy what we have to offer." -Call Off Sick
Call Off Sick was formed by Stephen Covey after being in the U.S. Army. He was injured from a medication they put him on and it almost killed him. He spent a month in a hospital bed wondering what in his life brought him here to the point where he didn't even think what he was a part of even mattered. Laying there he decided that if he made it out of there alive, he would do something that would count. He was medically discharge from the Army and sent back to his home town of Columbus, Ohio. Call Off Sick was a dream of his that if only for one day you could pursue your passions and dreams would you make that last? Would you work as hard as you could and pour yourself into it? "We are only a passing moment in the grand scheme of things, so make it count. "
Corey Sander soon met up with Stephen at a local coffee shop and discussed these ideas in great detail. Corey came from a ska band called "the Foolproof Ploy" where he played guitar and sang. With his cutting harmonies and dissonant guitar styles, they soon realized that this could be something real. With all the people out there in bands, there was something more the average band lacked involved here... a drive to really make it, no matter what the cost would be.
Andy Dunn was added after countless drummers were interview and turned down for several different reasons. Andy brought the hard hitting drum beats the band needed to drive the sound to the masses. It is undeniable that he is a machine. His dedication to this group made him an encouragement to Corey and Stephen that they were on the right track to a dream that will be real.
Rajiv Barton, or Jeeves as he is called, brought the final piece to the puzzle. His drive and determination fit in with the rest of the bands ideas about life and what they were striving for. Though this is his first band, Jeeves brings the drive that is shown in his showmanship and attitude both on and off stage. COS recognizes that it takes dedication and determination to be able to bring about a dream like this and make it a reality. They will not settle for less.
They released an EP on August 10th called, "...and listen". It's a 5 song EP that has great songs that are a precursor to the full length album due out early next year called "the Game of eXes & Ohhs". This album is promised to be a large work of art reflecting a story that will span the entire album.
Will you take this moment to live, or let it pass you by... Welcome!! Join us in our journey
