Brought up in a large family, Pete’s home life was surrounded by music. His father, a singer in a folk band, is an avid collector of music, providing Pete an eclectic mix of music from which to pick. As a child he was surrounded by musicians with his family home being the focal point for many musicians to get together and play. These early influences have tainted Pete’s approach to music which has always had its roots in live music.Pete started performing at an early age, having a gift for singing, was involved in choirs and musicals right from the start. Picking up a guitar at the age of 14 following the foot steps of his elder brother, Pete was soon singing, playing and writing his own music.As a writer Pete has a natural gift to turn emotions into melodies and lyrics, which cut right to the heart of those who hear them. Drawing on a well of deep emotion Pete’s music is reflective and often a therapy in itself, as times has gone by his writing has developed and he can often turn his hand to any subject and bring it to life with music and words.It would be hard to define the influences that have gone into Pete’s writing, having had such an eclectic introduction to music. Pete finds it difficult to find one defining artist who has driven how he writes. There are artists however whose integrity and passion for raw music have spurred Pete on in his musical journey, these being people such as Bruce Springsteen, REM, U2, The Band, The Eagles the list goes on.Seeing Pete perform live is when you see who he is as an artist, his raw passions cuts through and holds audiences. His live performance has the power to make people cry, laugh and sing along.
