Ok, apparently, I like boxing. That's new, we'll see how long this lasts.
People who still rock 50 years later.
I'm pretty lame in this department. I thought I knew something about music and then I moved to Nashville and everyone informed me I was wrong. In fact, I'm kind of ashamed to admit I think the Cracker Barrel musac is pretty cool. I like Wanda Jackson, Loretta Lynn, Jim White, but I like all sorts of other music too. Whatever makes me jump up and down or cry seems to be my only criteria. Townes Van Zandt and Bill Withers are demi-gods who currently dwell on Mount Olympus just in case you didn't know. But as for people who aren't dead or retired, I like Iron and Wine and The National.
Current obsessions include, but are not limited to: A Woman Under the Influence, David Gordon Green, Terrence Malick, Hirokazu Koreeda, well, pretty much anything that IMDB users complain is "depressing". I have a real affection for upbeat silly stuff too. I really like alot of kids movies. I'm a big Jim Henson fanatic.
Freaks and Geeks (thank you Jocelyn!!!!!) Twilight Zone, Jim Henson's Storytellers, Like my Granny, I have a Northern Exposure addiction, European Mini-Series like Dekalogue and Scenes from a Marriage
I'm currently reading Angelo Dundee's memoir and "The Fight" by Norman Mailer. I don't think Mailer's all that overrated. Other current obsessions are: Chris Ware, Harry Crews, Edith Wharton's tame assed ghost stories, and Mary Karr's Poetry. I also like alot of random non-fiction... Micheal Shermer, stuff like that.
My husband who is the rarest breed there is. My grandparents, my mom. My friends.Gee, I'm lucky. I know all my heroes personally.
