I'm interested in just about anything that can hold my interest or pose a challenge like guitar and piano; I'll never get it but I'll keep trying. I can spend hours in a book store reading anything that catches my eye and there are always the trashy, what's going in on Hollywood magazines that I can never pass up. Other than that I prefer being outdoors where I love running or just hang'n in the San Diego sunshine. When I'm not outside, a quiet time at home by myself or with friends and family, is always close runner up.
I'm originally from the desert where the are generally only country stations, so I like my fair share of country music- Rascal Flatts for example. My mom influenced my love for singers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Bobby Darin. Other favorites include Harry Connick Jr., Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Massive Attack, Foo Fighters, Ben Folds, Miles Davis, James Blunt, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Gavin Degraw, The Fray, Corrine Bailey Rae and any new catchy tune that’s fun to dance to.
I'm a girl who loves action movies. If a movie has buildings blowing up, fast cars and good looking heroes trying to save the day with their sometimes limited acting skills, a barrage of clichés and complimented with a wardrobe of black and white wife beaters, then I'm set. I'm also as predictable as it gets for a girl with a taste for romantic girly movies such as: The Princess Bride, Love Actually, Return To Me, Spanglish and Say Anything. A few other movies that are up there on the favorite list include: Sideways, Office Space, Crash, Kill Bill Vol. I & II, Robin Hood (the Disney version with the foxes) Seven, Gone With The Wind, Good Fellas, Con Air & Top Gun.
I try not to consume my life with TV but I admit to getting hooked to shows like 24, Grey's Anatomy and LOST.
The Giving Tree, Princesses Wear Hiking Boots, Where The Wild Things Are, Good Night Moon, Where The Red Fern Grows, Bridge To Terabethia, Island Of The Blue Dolphins, The Hobbit, Anything By Anne Rice, Anything By Max Lucado, Tuesdays With Morrie, The Scarlet Letter, The Bluest Eyes, Brave New World, The Catcher And The Rye, The Notebook, The Five Love Languages, Bird By Bird, The House On Mango Street, Parable of The Sower, The Alchemist and we'll through in Da Vinci Code for shits and giggles. These are just the books I've read more times than I'd like to admit but there are plenty more favorites.
My heroes are ordinary, everyday people who have left their mark on my life; my mommy, my sister, a hand full of friends, a former boss, a college professor and some random boy who said just the right words of kindness to an impressionable teenage a few years back.
