Fuck witcha eardrums a lil bit

About Me

Without taking anything away from our laptop warriors, I'd like to thank all you music makers who have gone the extra mile to actually see your sounds pressed onto vinyl. You've made something that will last.
I'll thank the rest of you in a few years, when I buy an iPod (for its old-school vibe).

Potential Friends: PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF WHEN/BEFORE SENDING AN ADD REQUEST! (You click the little button on the left of this screen that says 'Send Message'). Requests not accompanied by a message of introduction will be denied out of sheer spite. Gracias.

And it may not seem so at first glance, what with the pink profile and the techno music & all, but yeah...I'm more punk rock than you can fuckin' handle.

My Interests

Magick. Music. Family.
(Maybe that should all be one word).
Eternal respect to the global rave underground, in all its forms, with all its beautiful creations, and all of its sick, sick minds. I love you people.

I'd like to meet:

I'm open to your interests. I won't laugh at your skull tattoo, if you won't laugh at my love for techno music. ...well, on second thought, we could both use a laugh.

Yo, my DJs, artists, producers, magickians, philosophers, sound systems, promoters, distributors, labels, record stores, broadcasters, venues, listeners, dancers, scientists, maxers, relaxers, and all-'round party peoples who are interested in the power of techno specifically, electronic music widely, or amplified sound in general to shift the consciousness of human beings.

Even better are those who would like to push that consciousness toward more community. I think it would be incredible if all the wandering, splintered techno tribes out there began to reform under the banner of the rave nation, bringing back with them what they learned in the wilderness.

Does anybody still long to go to a party where they will actually be surprised at what comes through the speakers? Each dj and performer bringing a different, individual flavor? Rocking out to shit you'd have never heard if you were stuck back in your box? Yes, it's necessary to represent for your stylie, whatever it is. But in my eyes, the incessant genre-fication of techno--as distinguished from American "house music"--has led us to a state where there are, on a given weekend in San Francisco, about five clubs and 4 parties that each turn out 30 or 40 people, instead of 300 people turning out at the same shit to bang it off the hinges. What happened to us, ravers??

Look, anyone can have a sound party, and while fantastic, that's all there seems to be anymore. The rave, on the other hand, was and should be a full-sensory experience. Who remembers? Who wants to remember...? Pushing your body and mind to that peak experience was the point. It's not just about the music, and it's definitely not about $5 well drinks. At its best, the dancefloor is a gnostic church--there is worship, panic, astral travel taking place. A voodoo of possession and surrender. One dancefloor, one breath, one god-consciousness housed in many bodies. This is what it can be, anyway, for those who seek it. If you're interested in creating it, message me about the Rave Infrastructure Project (tRIP)!

Fun in the Murky (for techno-heads)

This fellow, Trevor Wilkes, was one of the first people I hooked up with on MySpace. Why? At the time, his profile was the ONLY one to return a search result for "Cannibal Cooking Club." I mean, how d...
