Junebug versus Hurricane.

About Me

Visit my Blog here: Junebug Versus Hurricane
Disclaimer: Yes, I am now another asshole with a blog. Why have I done this? Do I have something profound to say? Probably not. But it will hopefully encourage me to write, which I think is a good thing. Just because you know me and/or are my friend does not obligate you in any way to read, acknowledge, comment on or care about my blog. But if you find yourself wondering: "What the hell is he thinking?" this might be a good place to start. Thanks.

Songs You Should Download This Month
College Times has a 'Songs To Download This Month' section, but it kind of sucks so I thought I would make my own.
Avett Brothers - "Shame" - A banjo, an acoustic guitar and an upright bass, and these guys still manage to put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. This is a shuffling, simple song about looking back on love gone wrong. Get pulled in by the Avett's southern harmonies.
Band Of Horses - "The General Specific" - This is an amazing band that I've only recently gotten into. All there stuff is great, but this particular song has an energy to it that puts a smile on your face. Roll your windows down, lean your head back and rock this one in the car.
Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle - "Don't Kiss Me Goodbye" - I keep hearing this song in the trailer for this movie that's coming out (which I can't remember the name of), and I can't get it out of my head. Slowly driving music with ethereal vocals. It's got a great vibe to it. If you actually manage to get a copy of this song, email it to me. Can't find it.
Spoon - "Eddie's Ragga" - This song is just cool, as is the band. Plain and simple. I have no idea what they're really singing about other than, well, being cool, but the line "She never been to Texas/Never heard of King Kong." gets me everytime. Britt Daniel has a vocal cadence all his own.
The Kinks - "Lola" - I love the acoustic-based stuff from The Kinks. This one is a particular favorite. Totally bizarre lyrics. Listen to this and be transported to another place.
Potential Band Names For My Band That Doesn't Exist
American Soccer Stars of Tomorrow, Big Tits In A Raincoat, Awesome City Awesome, Brickwall Laserfight, The Killjoy Cowboys, Shorts In Alaska, The World Is Flat In The West, Hot Air Balloon Wreck, more to come...
