MARCK ANGEL. GAME. THE VIDEO. (Sneak Peak)
Vocally different, refreshing and new, is something that has always been few and far in-between in the music business. Couple that with talents of songwriting, producing and dancing, and the difficulty of your search is sure to multiply exponentially; that is, unless you've heard of a young, up and coming music artist by the name of Marck Angel.
Evoking the charismatic timbre of Michael Jackson in the early 80's with a splash of present-day urban soul, Marck Angel's voice brings an urgent breath of fresh air to what is currently a very stark and interchangeable R&B lineup. There is no need for vocal imitating or falsetto here... this kid and his ethereal range are the real thing.
Born and raised in the music capital of the world, New York, Marck Angel is a true music artist, whose soft, yet skilled vocal styling is only matched by his talent for songwriting and producing. And if that's not enough, he's got a potent dose of urban dance and choreography to add to his palatable agenda.
Marck started dancing (on beat) at age 2, singing at 4, writing songs at 10 and producing them at 16, proof that true talent can't be taught, but must be inbred.
Many artists write about their life experiences, but where Marck Angel differs is in his ability to be able to express his experiences musically from beginning to end; he's as confortable behind the eq's and keyboards as he is behind the mic. Heavily involved in his craft from song conception to final mix down, then bringing it all to life through dance; all of which contribute to his music's believability, intimacy, and his truth as an artist.
Marck professes, "being an artist and an entertainer are two different things. Being an 'artist' first, is most important to me because anyone with enough money and 'smoke and mirrors' can be painted into being an 'entertainer'. For me, it's about art... creativity. Getting engrossed in my music, from the melodies to the writing, to playing the instruments to the mixing, and even with the choreography... it's the only way I know how to do this... and I think it builds a closer connection with the audience, as well".
Marck Angel intends to help fill a void in an industry where it's extremely rare to find an artist that willingly applies himself to every facet of their craft... a true to form "music artist". And in a time where male R&B artists seem to be cloned on a weekly basis, it's nice to have a refreshing, different talent on the horizon.
