I am here for Dating, Friends and Networking

About Me

"We are the puzzle pieces who seldom fit with other puzzle pieces. Romantics, idealists, eccentrics, we inhabit singledom as our natural resting state. In a world where proms and marriage define the social order, we are, by force of our personalities and inner strength, rebels."

~ from Sasha Cagen's 'People like us: The Quirkyalones'

Daydreamer.
Intensely intellectually curious.
Budding spiritually.
Lover of the arts.
Pathologically passionate about music.
Exceedingly creative.
Endearingly quirky.
Funnier than anyone you know.
More humble and modest than you must think I am right now.

Missing you, but I haven't met you yet.

I'd like to meet:

(Author's note: It has been suggested that this 'laundry list' connotes that I only want to be messaged by those who perfectly match these traits, and that it comes off as somewhat intimidating and exceedingly selective. Suffice to say that I appreciate and respect all personality types and every opinion; I do not judge, I only observe. Don't hesitate to write if you feel so inclined.)

- You are equally fascinated and repulsed by pop culture (the only time you can be caught watching Reality TV is when you are channel surfing and a show mesmerizes you in a "rubbernecking-to-catch-a-glimpse-of-a-car-accident" kind of way).

- You consider yourself rather politically-aware but find anyone that leans too far to either side of the political spectrum a bit disconcerting. When you listen to talk radio or the various 'news' sources, you are appalled at how everyone is more concerned about being right than being honest.

- You are disgusted with most commercial radio and MTV, especially their penchant for overplaying songs, even the passable ones, to the point that are rendered an unlistenable bloody pulp. Indeed, your musical leanings tend to be off the mainstream; most people have never heard the artists and bands you consider favorites.

- You don't affiliate yourself too closely to either major political party/ideology, nor have you found an organized religion that fits your very specific and very clear spiritual beliefs. This comes as no surprise, as even while you were growing up you never did associate with any particular clique (despite having several close friends). What others mistook for a loner was a person who had the unique trait of being comfortable in your own skin without needing the approval of others.

- You aren't interested in finding your 'other half' or someone to 'complete you'. You are quite whole all by yourself (thankyouverymuch), and your quiet confidence exudes this constantly. You suffer from the occassional bout of loneliness, but you don't let it consume you. You are energized by meeting new, interesting, and like-minded people, but you would never date someone just for the sake of dating.

- Quite simply, you are You... nothing more, nothing less: secure, confident, fun-loving, intellectually curious, articulate, and constantly seeking enlightenment. You don't make excuses for who you are. You seek momentous meetings and are open to the possibility of anything and everything. You are equal parts 'not sure of my place in this world' and 'loving the journey and where it is taking me'. You love Life, and you travel through this world with the Knowing that Life loves you right back just as much.
