Live Your Dreams

About Me

I'm a little bit of eastern Buddhist philosophy, a little bit of western investment banker. I try to keep it all balanced, but sometimes it's a real challenge. If anything I prefer the eastern lifestyle but the realities of modern life keep popping up. I love to travel more than anything, and recently returned to Annapolis, Maryland from six months in Tibet. I'm a Buddhist in the Tibetan tradition and find meditation and spiritual practice to be an important part of my life. Even so, I enjoy the challenges of mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance--but if I had my way I'd do it from a laptop in the Himalayas.

My Interests

Most of all I love the mountains. I am completely at peace with the universe when I am trekking and climbing high in the Himalayas. I've traveled hundreds of miles on foot through the mountains of Tibet, Nepal and northern India. I also love snow skiing and other winter sports, as well as scuba diving and anything to do with the water. I like to run, bike, work out, hike and rock climb in my spare time, but I also like a cozy meal at home, a nice bottle of wine and a dvd movie with popcorn. I like to read, and I love museums, art galleries, the theater and other performing arts. I am deeply connected with the Tibet--the people, art and culture. I love animals of all kinds, and most of all smiles, love and laughter.

I'd like to meet:

Ambitious but fun people, who love life, want to travel the world, laugh, and most importantly smile! I connect with people that are living in the moment, who are giving and caring, loving and compassionate, smiling and friendly. People with a sense of adventure about life, a sense of exploration and awe about the world around them--even if it is just for little, seemingly mundane things.

Music:

I listen mainly to Asian music such as Tibetan, Hindi and Nepalese, but I also like Latin, jazz, modern and classic rock. Every now and then I even listen to some classical--but shoosh, don't tell.

Movies:

Romantic comedies, action adventure, foreign flicks (especially Tibetan and Hindi movies)

Television:

I'd generally rather read a good book than watch TV, but I am into dvd movies from time-to-time.

Books:

Tibet, Buddhism, eastern philosophy, new age spiritualism, travel, outdoor adventures, business and occasionally fiction, spy novels

Heroes:

Masters of meditation and miracles; single parents; anyone who has been married for a really long time; people who have overcome their fears; caregivers; people who have learned to love deeply and communicate honestly.
