Patrice P. Eaton, Soprano began singing professionally at the age of 7 in the childrens choruses of the Metropolitan Opera and the New York City Opera. She appeared in LEnfant et les Sortileges, Hansel and Gretel, La Boheme, Le Rossignol, Turandot, LElixir dAmor, Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, and Porgy and Bess. She also appeared on Live from The Met, the Today Show and Reading Rainbow.
Patrice is a graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington where she has appeared in Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Magic Flute, Cosi Fan Tutte scenes, Susannah, Der Rosenkavalier scenes, Die Fledermaus, and Jesus Christ Superstar. During the 1998-99 season she toured Europe in the New York Harlem Production of Porgy and Bess. She is a former member and soloist of the American Spiritual Ensemble and is featured on their recording Ole Time Religion. Ms. Eaton has also appeared with Opera Classique Concerts as Micaela in their 2004 performances of Carmen. In July, 2006 she was afforded the opportunity to perform at the Vienna Arts Festival in Vienna, Austria.
In July of 1999, Ms. Eaton won the Eastern Regional Finals of the Leontyne Price Contest sponsored by the Business and Professional Womens Association and was featured in a winners recital in December, 1999.
She has been a recipient of the Richard A. Hilderbrand Scholarship from Bridge Street AWME Church, a voice grant from the University of Kentucky, and a special award from the Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. of Lexington, KY. In 1997 Patrice was named one of Americas Outstanding Young Women. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women.
