Hi! Welcome to my page! My name is Shannon Courtney. I am a student at ULM, and majoring in Biology. I love to have fun, and laugh! At first I can be shy, but open up quickly. I am originally from the northshore area (north of new orleans), but moved up to Monroe for school. I miss the country so much. I lived less than a mile away from the river, and I loved going out on the boat, fishing, tubing, mud-riding at midnight at the gravel pits, big trucks, 4-wheeler riding [ and wrecking] lol. YES! I am a country girl at heart!
Before I moved to monroe I had the best job ever! I was a bartender at dance club in New Orleans. I have always wanted to bartend when i was growing up, and I finally got to experience it after I graduated. The first semester at ULM I didn't work, and i was very poor! but now that i have moved off campus, and got my apartment I had to start working. But my new job isn't that bad, I have met some great people, and still making more.
I'm an adrenaline junkie! I love a rush, taking risks, I live on the edge. I'm not scared of much, except bugs. I love to travel, and I want to see the world!
I love going out on the weekends, spending time with friends. I like going to bars to play pool, or out to a club to dance! I love getting dressed up and shaking my booty! SOME PEOPLE SAY I'M HIGH MAINTENANCE! BUT IM NOT!
When I was growing up, I never really understood the true meaning of family. I wasn't close to any of my siblings, and I hated living at home. But now that I have grown up, and moved away from home, I see how valuble family is. I love my mother so much, she is truly my best friend. I can talk to her about anything at anytime. She has always bent over backwards to please me, and without her I would not be where I am today.
My Friends mean the most to me. I have lots of friends from back home that I left behind when I moved up here, but I have been making more since I got here! My bestest friend in the entire world would be ERIC. I love that guy to death, he is my hero! He has always protected me, and looked out for my best interest. We have this pact that if we are both not married by the time we are 45 years old, we will marry each other! But i doubt thats gonna happen. In high school I thought I had a best friend who would stick by me thru thick-and-thin, but was proved wrong. Turns out, the entire 5 years we were friends, she had been lying, decieving, and stabbing me in the back the whole time. Ever since this incident I have had some what of trust issues with who and what I can tell people, and who I consider a "true" friend. My mom always told me that if you can count on one hand how many TRUE friends you have, you are considered to be very lucky!
I have 3 dogs at home, who are so precious! First there is Libby, my basset hound, who is def. the head of the household. She is 2 years old, and she runs the bunch. Then there is Jinx, MY PUPPY, he is a Yorkshire Terrier, he is more mellow, the lap dog type of dog, lol. He is too cute, and he has def. stole my heart. Then there is Maggie, ohh gosh Maggie. She is a 40lb. Old English Bulldog. She is loud, snorts like a pig, snores louder than a grown man, farts silently, and drools every where! But yet she is still adorable!
