Since JD was a small child he has been fascinated with music. His father, once an aspiring band director, introduced him to the many sounds of music at a young age. He loved all of them. His father, now a Pastor of 17 years, urged him to sing in churches around whatever community they were living in at the time. With a small, shrieking voice he belted out whatever song his father or mother had chosen for him.
He picked up the guitar at age 12 and played any tune he could muster. Although keeping his music to himself for years behind the closed doors of his bedroom. It was his freshman year in High School when he found himself and knew music was his destiny. Two years later in English class, a fellow student let him borrow his guitar for a moment. An hour and a half later, with the whole class surrounding him, he was still performing for the class. Nobody could get enough. Moments like those made him appreciate what he had become as a musician.
It may have been the rodeo arenas, where he competed in the bull riding, or his West Texas start in life. None the matter, country music is his love in life. The beautiful twang in his voice mixed with his influences of Classical, Opera, Pop, Rock, Alternative, and everything in between, seems to ring in your ears long after he has taken a bow.
Now 21 years old, and writing his own style of music, he hopes to bring what is missing. Whatever it is to fill the void in his audience’s hearts. Whether in front of 5 or 10,000 he will have you on the edge of your chair. You won’t want to miss a single lyric or a single beat.
