HYDRO was born and raised on the west side of Detroit in the mid 1980's. One of six children, he was like most young men growing up, his first love was basketball and played the game basically all his life. But when he got to college he realized he wanted to focus more on rap. And basketball became secondary to his plans and rap took over.While conducting an interview with HYDRO, I got his opinion on how Rap/Hip hop influenced him.Day 1 Boyz B: First of all, Where did you get the name Hydro?HYDRO: People just been calling me that all my life, as long as i've been growing up.Day 1 Boyz B:Well just tell me about yourself?HYDRO: I' m real focused when it comes to rap. When it comes to the performance part of rapping I love it. I don't get butterflies or nothing. I take rap seriously when it comes to getting my grind on. My mother is my biggest inspiriation of my life. Just having it rough growing up, my car accident when i was younger made me turn my life around. I just put God first before everything else.Day 1 Boyz B: What made you get into music? (Rap/Hip/hop)HYDRO: It just came to me naturally, just putting the lycrics together and the flow just came to me. And as far as inspiriations Jay- Z inspired me, just coming from nothing... the ghetto, and just being a big part of hip-hop. Becoming Ceo of Roca Fella, owning his own clothing line, and owning his own team in the NBA. It's just the idea of coming from nothing and turning into something major. I want that for myself.Day 1 Boyz B: How long have you've been rapping offically?HYDRO: About two years as far as going to the radio stations, hitting the open mic's, hitting the studio, and just getting my grind on... two years.Day 1 Boyz B: Do you think Rap/hip hop has lost its flavor or it's soul?HYDRO: Naw, it has to change at some point. I mean it changed for the better i think. Things gotta change... " border="0"
