About Me

"I have been told that I am a figment of my own imagination, that what I am cannot be, that my truths are lies and their lies are truths. But I know that I am and that my truths are not lies and their lies are not truths. They may keep me outside the boundaries of their imaginations, but I refuse to be invisible." -Jason Cromwell
Hi. My name is Ethan. I’m a 21 year old full time undergraduate student at Southern Connecticut State University. I'm a Sociology/Anthropology double major, with a minor in Public Health. I have a thousand jobs. I work full time at Planned Parenthood of Connecticut as a Clinic Operations Assistant. I'm also an intern at Planned Parenthood, as a Campus Organizer Intern within the Public Affairs Department. I work at the LGBT Center on Southern’s Campus, called SAGE. I’m a former Starbucks partner, and will always hold the experience that I’ve had working there close to my heart. Starbucks partners are incomparable. It’s like we’re our own kind.
If you haven’t already noticed, I'm an overachiever. I'm just a kid trying to make a space for myself in this world. I'm really just your average boy. I'm extremely blunt and brutally honest, yet I'm probably one of the most polite people that you'll ever meet. My good manners are certainly one of my better qualities. I'm the boy that your mom wishes you'd bring home to her.
I confront the limits of duality. I'm a thinker, observer, activist, sociologist, and anthropologist. I can't pronounce the word "maintain" or the word "thermometer". If you ever ask me to try, I’ll probably get mad. I blow bubbles in my chocolate milk. I'm a proud vegetarian. I don't drink or smoke. I'm a hopeless romantic, and I get attached to people too easily. I also can't read my own handwriting. I'm sort of a mess, but in a really put together kind of way.
I present myself to be very mature, but I’m really just a fourteen year old boy at heart. I'm obsessed with superheroes, especially Spiderman. I watch more cartoons on television than anything else. I'm a Dance Dance Revolution enthusiast, and will someday, soon enough, crack all of the walls and ceilings in my house from playing it. I even have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle wallpaper in my room. What can I say? I'm just too cute to handle.
To say that I have the most interesting and fulfilling life imaginable would certainly be an understatement. I finally feel comfortable in my own skin...and i'm only getting more comfortable as the days continue to fly by. I'm majoring in subjects that don't even feel like majors, because they're so fun and interesting. I work for an organization that provides services to people to ensure that they make the best and most healthy decisions for themselves regarding their own sexual and reproductive health. I have an internship that allows me to educate students and plan programming about public policy in the Reproductive Rights movement. I work at the campus LGBT Center, making the campus environment that much safer for the LGBT community. I'm actually making a difference. Not to mention, I have the coolest, most understanding partner that anyone could ever ask for.
Sometimes my life feels like a dream, and I don't ever want to wake up.
