gc is short for groundcontrol, a nickname which i've been using for some years now in online gaming (counter-strike with my clan TkWsN The Knights Who Say Ni). i was born on a sunday in leuven, belgium on the 16th of november 1980.
i graduated as a graphic designer at st lukas brussels in 2002 and am currently employed as web developer with a company called the parking lot , mainly programming flash websites and games. very sweet indeed. please don't ask me about freelance web projects since i don't have any time left for that. my passion is music and the primary tool of expressing it is the allmighty guitar. i play lead guitar in 2 bands: ASHVILLE , which is a heavy rock band fusing grooving stoner rock with all things heavy & LICHT MENTAAL , a skapunk-partyband that brings songs in both english, dutch (my native language) & everything in between. i own a fender strat, 2 ibanez'es (rg series 7-string & artcore custom hollow body) and a washburn semi-acoustic. i gig with an ENGL powerball head wired to a Bogner speaker cabinet and use FX like the cry-baby wahwah, Little Big Muff fuzz and Digitech Whammy. i'm exploring computer-based music composition and production, using software like audacity, gearbox and KRISTAL. i live in an appartment in heverlee, leuven (belgium).
now, for some entertainment, here's a video of me busting out a guitar solo at the marktrock festival in 2002 (in my home town leuven). the band is now called licht mentaal but back then we were a live backing band for the rap group phillibustas .
