About Me
HISTORY: No Reform started in a backyard wedding gig, with fred's(guitar), big steve(drums), and joser(singer), covering the ramones, the misfits, and the white stripes. just keeping it real simple, and rocking out to the crowd through a 20W 10" crate amp, a 4piece sound percussion ducttaped-up drum set, and a crap stereo system as a PA. it was then that we obtained the name "The Backyard Bastards",and that was all it took for freds and joser to get it going: creating songs like freethinker, the misfit, and instability. while joser worked so arduously at lowes, it was there that destiny definitely took its sharp turn. joser met an upstanding young guitarist named lawrence, who shared political ideology with joser and later joined the band. it was then that our music really took off, and we established the name "No Reform" from josers belief that for the most part, reform is only used to pacify the masses, to silence the opposition. still without a bass, another young man joined the band by the name of jim, who came in on drums and put big steve on bass. our music was then at its short peak, as we began to play a couple gigs with fellow band THE INVALID 6 , and other small bands that came and went. jim later quit, and fred's took destiny in his hands as he planted himself on the throne of the drumset. still trying several people out on drums to put fred's back on guitar, ernie stood in the shadows picking up his bass guitar. soon enough, steve left no reform and was replaced by his little brother ernie, who would improve his skill and solidify his place in the band. an old friend of fredy's was then mentioned as a possible guitarist and invited to come try out, and through the door entered a tall young man named robert, with his beany, his guitar, and his shyness. our music as a whole developed strength and angst, with songs like "positive space" and "brfs". lawrence would later quit the band due to geographical reasons and his career, and was shortly replaced by THE INVALID 6 guitarist chris. Robert, Our lead guitarist would later quit the band for personal reason's. Jon, original member of THE IDEAL THREATS has now joined No Reform, Rhythm Guitar. History is still in the making, and No Reform's purpose begins to unfold: to revolutionize the minds of its fans, and bring change to this society (this world).CURRENT: We are No Reform from Moreno Valley, CA. We've been around since the summer of 2003, and though having multiple line-up changes, we've kept to our basic style and purpose. No Reform is a blend of underground punk rock, leftist politics, and peace and love driven anger toward atrocities and injustice in our society. We play our music to give people good music to listen to, but also to get people educated, motivated, organized and mobilized to push for positive social change. We do not try to come out in a way that tells how you should be, but rather we present our analysis along with facts which can then be used to draw up personal conclusions. Our lyrics mostly deal with our ideas or how we see things, but not all are to-the-point serious. We as a band support various causes by leafleting at our shows, hanging banners, attending and encouraging others to attend demonstrations and conferences, and also by putting together and playing benefit shows. The broad issues we speak out on include human rights, peace, government, revolution, violence, and animal rights(all but one of us are vegan). In conclusion, No Reform is a band dedicated to two main goals: to make some music kids can rock out to, and to push forth positive change with dignity and respect.
