Dj Paul Synapzz teamed up with Mr Clumz
(also known as "Clumzy T" of the highly regarded group Aphrodelics) in July 2005 ready to burn any global dance floor with sure shot Hip Hop music.
In musical terms the goal of Audiofest is to set an example of how commercial and creative independent Hip Hop can achieve a wide appeal, while boasting Bling Bling club and street beats with an engaging mix of catchy vocal and scratch hooks.
Mr Clumz does what he is best known for: powerful and witty lyrics and vocals meet heavy weight productions supplied by reigning top notch beatmakers Koolade, Baby Dooks and Dash (Erick Sermon, Ghostface Killa , Redman, Fatman Scoop, Sean Paul, Fat Joe, Angie Martinez, Afu Ra, Masta Ace), guest MCs, vocalists and Paul Synapzz for scratch purposes.
Also doing his thing on the beats side of things is none other than Warsaws legendary hip hop beatmaker pioneer and undisputable champion of the drum maschine, "DJ VOLT!".
Currently negotiations are being made with more major producers in the USA, Europe and Japan.
All are positive signs that Audiofest has a bright future ahead.
Together with fellow Mcs, Shegun and Shadee they emerged from the Vienna scene in 1995 after hooking up with producer Rodney Hunter in the early 90ies who already had an impressive record to show:
Leena Conquest’s “Boundaries / Love is blind†(released on the Stereo Mcs label Natural Response/Gee Street) became a huge international club hit, remix duties for the likes of Gravediggaz (Wu Tang): “Mommy was a gravedigga†(gee street) went straight to number one on Funk Master Flex’s Hot 97 NYC chart show, Doug E. Fresh, Masta Ace, etc.
More recently Rodney Hunter released a solo album ("Hunterfiles"), on G Stone Records and the next one is already fixed and on the jump off.
The Aphrodelics crew stormed the scene with their first major single “Rollin´on Chrome“ in 1998 charting across Europe with consistent prime-time air and video play on MTV, Viva and others.
Sophistication coupled with tight rhymes and head nodding beats no one would have expected that they are not from the streets of Brooklyn.
Surprisingly these fellas are not American nor British or Jamaican and proved that English speaking Hip Hop from Europe has to be reckoned with.
The Hip Hop Magazine Source wrote: „If Rap outside the U.S. was nothing more than havin´ wack beats and misinterpretin´ unfunky flows as local flavor, then be ready for a change. Here’s a new breed of Rap Crew, thinking global, but acting local. “
They released 2 albums on BMG Records, a mix tape with Dj Tony Touch, worked with Masta Ace, Patrice, F.T (New York), Dj Tomekk, Curse (Germany), Fauna Flash and even had an offer to sign to Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Records at one point.
They toured and played with the likes of Rakim, Naughty By Nature, Delinquent Habits, Cypress Hill, Outkast, Master Ace, European Gladiators Tour (with Mellowbag, Walking Large), X-Patriots Tour (with Sekou, Daddy Rings, Stareye) and many others.
DJ PAUL SYNAPZZ has been living and breathing Hip Hop for the last 14 years. He has shared stages and chopped, sliced and diced records nationally and internationally with the likes of Lords of the Underground, Kurtis Blow, DJ Rob Swift, Tha Alkoholics, DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest), Wu Tang Clan artists Rza, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, Killa Bees (Wu Tang), Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah and Rustee Juxx, Rahzel (Roots), Dj Pf. Cuttin (Blahzey Blahze, USA), Funkdoobiest,Dj Pogo (DMC World Champion, En4orcers, UK), Mc Yogi (UK) & Dj Baby J (UK) Moorish Delta 7 (UK) Dj Lifeforce (GE), Waxflowers (Holland) and plays constantly in clubs across Europe.
An Audiofest live line-up comprises Mr Clumz (Aphrodelics, main vocals) and Dj Paul Synapzz (turntables).
Their powerful live show (Mr Clumz already played with the Aphrodelics at the premier New York club Limelight and toured with Rakim on his last European tour) encompasses all the right ingredients for an exciting performance.
Just recently Audiofest toured with US heavyweights Dilated Peoples on their last major Europe tour, including sold out shows in Munich, Vienna, Prague, Basel, Gent (Belgium), Zürich and Leipzig, they are finding themselves more and more in demand.
With the debut 12†in the pipeline for fall of 2007, a full album to follow and a host of Djing + Mc club and live dates (upcoming shows all over Europe) coming up, it couldn’t be busier for Audiofest. !
