Sometimes when I feel most down, when I feel most detached and obscure and like I'm doing no good for anybody, I think about this line of poetry and it makes me laugh and gives me guidance. It's a line that on first glance appears to boast the highest form of pomposity. But on closer inspection the line betrays not pretension, but rather what it means to be selfless. After all, what does it mean to be brilliant? To be smart? Nah. To be superior? No. To be brilliant is to glow. To shed light from within. So in my day-to-day I can at least aspire to be remembered as someone who—even if not the "most brilliant"—at least gave some of what was inside and who brought a little more light into the world.

Jimikruz the stage name that derives from his horoscope sign (gemini) in conjuction with his last name (cruise) started flowing back in his highschool ciphers in pasadena. He later began to build a duo called down2earth with his older brother ceal da deal. After hundreds of hours of writing , freestyling and studio time they landed a song titled Fighting a war on the first movie soundtrack for "Blade" alongside with artist such as Mobbdeep, Krs-one, and Bountykiller. The soundtack sold over a million records. After the success of the soundtrack they dropped the name down2earth and formed G.R.I.P. Get Reality in Perspective(TM)
The G.R.I.P. bangers are NO LONGER being generated till this day, however Jimikruz the artist has been pushed in the solo direction by demand. Jimikruz representing the Pasadena area with pride wants to kick open the doors for the world to see the talent that resides in the City of Roses!
