Look what happens when I get bored.
Who am I, you ask?
Shawn is my birth name, but most people call me Boots. I was born and raised around here, and needless to say I’m kinda sick of it. I Graduated from BCC with a 2 year degree in Business Administration already but I’m going back another semester to finish taking all the stupid general education classes. The plan is to eventually finish school and become a Corporate Lawyer. In the mean time, I bartend and serve at Texas Roadhouse, and it's not a terrible job.
Who's that?^.
Beneath the Surface
I started with random drawings as a kid, which eventually evolved into un-proportional Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Considering I’ve been doing this since I was 2 years old, I take a little pride in my artwork and consider SOME of my stuff to be halfway decent. I took college level class at in high school, where I dabbled in 3D art instead of 2D. It was a challenge but pretty fun too. Also, I’ve been writing a story since I was either 14 or 15. It started as some lame story, which has grown into a kick ass tale of deception, religion, politics, revenge, and all that other stuff. The only problem is that I have it written in my head, not on paper. Someday maybe it’ll happen… until then only a few people I know have heard details of it. Trust me though, it’s awesome.
If you know me at all, you know I love cars. Seriously, I’m in another world when I’m behind the wheel of a muscle car. I love older cars, mostly classics and muscle cars. I find the cars from the mid-1960’s until the mid-1970’s are basically some of the most amazing machines ever created. I myself own a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback. It now has a Dodge 360 V8 engine instead of the 318 it used to have, which the previous owners had swapped out. My 360 is bored 30 thousandths over, with a 727 3 speed automatic transmission (taken from a late-1970’s Dodge Ram 1500 to hold it over since I blew the older A-904 transmission) It’s got a Jewel Blue Pearl-Coat paintjob, soon to be redone. It sports some small 14 inch American Racing Outlaw II rims, to be replaced sometime soon. Aside from the all-original vinyl seats and the Kenwood CD player, there isn’t much else to tell about it. The rear end on the car is in not-so-good shape, so it isn’t safe to drive at the moment. It’ll be 40 years old in 2008, and I intend to restore it in time for “her†birthday, so expect some major changes to be happening to it. They call it a project car for a reason, and it’s been a part of my life since I was 15. I love this car, and I intend to really make it something special pretty soon.
I work closely with music as well. I write songs when I need to get something out of my system. I find that having a few drinks can helps bring out words and metaphores i wouldn't think of when sober. I'm primarily a lyricist, and a singer. I fiddle with the guitar and bass now and then, and i dabble in piano a little (not as much as I want to). I am close with members or have met members of the following bands: Across Five Aprils, Project 86, Nevertheless, Straylight Run, Thousand Foot Krutch, Break Your Face (had to show them some love in this) It Dies Today, and the infamous and amazing AofSM.
OK, enough updates for now. I'm hungry and want some Creamy Chicken Ramen...
