Judah Crew

I just want to tell you a little info. about Judah Crew. First of all, Judah Crew is a Chicago based multicultural community youth choir formed in 1998 and founded by Tonette. Our purpose is to nurture, cultivate and motivate youth to give their gifts, talents back to God; Judah means let God be praised and we encourage youth to praise God in song, dance, rap and instrumentally. We don't want the world to exploit our youth so we invest in them early. The choir consist of youth ranging in ages from 3 yrs. - 25 yrs. of age from various churches throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. However, our original home based church is Christ Church of Chicago - Pastor Royce D. Cornelius. Because of the favor of God, Tonette was able to combine her youth with the youth from Lighthouse Church of All Nations whose founder/pastor is the renowned recording artist Pastor Dan Willis. Tonette is the minister of music for JC and has been actively working with youth choirs for over 12 years. She loves nurturing the gifts and talents of young people. She does not feel that any child is too young to render praise to God. If the child shows interest, nurture and develop it. We have some pictures forthcoming featuring some of our past and current accomplishments. Some of which include performances at the United Center with Celine Dion, House of Blues, Disney World, at the Apollo in NY, Jenny Jones, Juanita Bynum's CD release and most recently - Kierra "Kiki" Sheard. We even had one member who was in the movie, "Save the Last Dance". Many of the original members are college students now. We want to utilize this tool to keep in touch and to remind young people that they are not alone in their Christian walk. There is a scripture that speaks of Jesus in Luke, it says . . ."and the child grew and waxed strong in the Lord." That's what we want young people everywhere to do. As they grow physically, let that growth include spiritual and mental maturity. We need God in every area of our lives. Ultimately, we come to understand that our life is hid in Jesus. So anything that they/we venture into, the reality is God's direction will be sought out first. Let's join hands across the world via myspace and encourage our youth to live for Christ. Let's live the life that we sing and preach about ...somebody IS counting on us...
