Music, sports, my work, video games, my Flea Bass(if that bass could talk, it could write a book people would buy and make a movie people would watch. Trust me. Or ask and I'll tell ya) which is my soul, and definitly throwing down. Hard. I'm good at it. Oh and cooking on the grill. I make this seriously fine maranade that makes your food melt. And ya gotta season everything. Damnit if you're going to do it, do it right. Snowboarding, which I haven't done in a while. I have a great story about snowboarding in 1994 in 8th grade with Tim Dolena for the first time. NO ONE was snowboarding then. Ask me about it if you ride. Ask him if you want to verify the story. You will laugh. :) I also love my puppy Henny. She's a little English Springer Spaniel. She's such a great and adorable doggie. One of the best family members in my life. She's seen alot and has ALWAYS loved me no matter what. That dog saved my life man. True story. :) Tempertrend/DOPE show. 3/6/2007. Awesome crowd. A Thank You to all who were there to experience that craziness with us.
I'm lookin for: A girl who will roll with me where I go, come to my shows and support me, lets me hang with my friends, and wants to drink beer and watch football on Sundays. In return I will: Totally encourage "Girls Night", I'll buy the box of wine for you and your friends, I'll supply the tissues, I'll let you watch Lifetime in my house, and I'll cook the Chicken Parm before we go to my gig. If you and your friends want to go "Out", I will pay for the taxi or you all can come with me and my people. Is that really to much to ask for? Seriously? Why is that so difficult? That's really all I want. You can apply by leaving me an IM, calling my cell, or emailing me.The lines are open...Hahaha no lets get serious here. Love my friends, love my band, love my family, love my music. My page is a kick ass place to hang out and be sure to check the blog Band Reviews. Some awesome music to check out. If you're a band or musician and you want me to check your shit, get at me and I will. It would truely be my honor. You'll get an honest review from an actual Musician. More than you can say you'll get from the "critics." I live to check new music, ESPECIALLY shit I've never heard before. It makes me think and makes me a better musician and person. What more could I want or ask for. Oh and anyone who wants to come see this fun shit. Look at the big smile:If you ever want to get at me on IM you can get me at BigCyp4. Send me a messege if you have any questions or inquiries about my new projects happening, want me to check your band out, have a band you want me to check out, or if you just want to shoot the shit. I'm always down with meeting cool, new people. I'm definitly a big fan. So DO NOT be shy. :P 'Dem Boys and some of The Crew.
Funk, blues, jazz, reggae, soul, classic rock, improvisational, anything jammin. Ya know, the good stuff. Soul food man, soul food. Some groups: Bela Fleck and The Flecktones(best group of musicians in a band on the planet. Period.), Victor Wooten(best bassist alive, period. YouTube him and watch Norwegian Wood. I'm fo'serious), Graham Cental Station, James Brown, The Isley Brothers, The Band, Stevie Ray(God playing the guitar), Albert King, B.B. King, Hendrix, Cream, Clapton, Yes, The Beatles, Blues Traveler, Phish, Grand Funk Railroad, Oysterhead, George Clinton and P-Funk, anything Rick James man cause everyone says I remind them of Rick James, Merl Saunders(one of the coolest dudes I've ever met), Herbie Hancock, Sublime, Marley, Dre and Snoop(did you know Doggystyle was all P-Funk rips? I was listening to Snoop and Dre in 1994), Meth and Red, Stevie Wonder, James Gang, Santana, Jaco and Weather Report, Miles Davis, Coultrane, Deep Banana Blackout, of course The Dead, Chili Peppers(I play a Flea Bass for Christ's sake), Primus, Les Claypool, damn the list goes on and on.
Meh. Not much of a movie guy. Although The Crow kicked ass. And how could I forget the greatest movie ever made: Scarface. You can learn alot about life and how to live it from that movie. Oh and shit, Dazed and Confused. Come on. One of the greatest Epic Tales ever told. :) I soooooooo could have acted in that movie man. Seriously man. All I woulda had to do is be me man. :)
Sportscenter, History Channel, and all those kick ass music channels Direct TV gives ya.Oh and The Sunday Ticket during football season. Totally awesome. I'm leaving this up even though the show is over because, well, that's just friggin still funny. Thanks Frankie Magic. :) Ever see a funky white dude get sick wit it on a Champagne of Beers can? Well here's photo proof it has happened. :)
Heh. Ummm... Intermediate Bass Chords??? :)"Starlight" "Solar"I have a few more that I am gonna put up but check out Tempertrend on my Top Friends and watch them vids. Tonight is my "bass work" song. Check me out in a Modern Rock setting.
Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorious, Stevie Ray Vaughn(I watched his Live at The El Mocombo from 1984 and he opened with Testify. The next day I called my cousin askin if I could borrow his bass. Stevie was my sole inspiration for picking up an instrument), Hendrix(Come on. He was Stevie Ray Vaughn's idol man), Larry Graham, Snoop, Dre, Flea, Rick James, George Clinton and P-Funk, Les Claypool, Merl Saunders, Jack Bruce, Walter Payton, Jim Thorpe, and all the blues and jazz musicians who faced some shitty times back in the day. Dre uses a shitload of real bass players and musicians on his shit. Gotta love that. Definitly my dad, cause he's one of the greatest men I've ever met, if not the greatest. He's supported us 3 kids through everything we've ever done or been through. And he's been 100% behiind me through all my shit. I love ya Dickie B Sr. My mom, for dealing with me for all these years and also being 100% behind me. I'm definitly a handfull, and that's an understatement. I love you so much mom. Oh and my bros Cor and Ty, for also dealing with my shit. For sure Brad and Anthony, and Jay and Schmitty. They taught me everything I know on my bass. Instead of looking down on a guy they decided to teach. All the soldiers fighting for us. And my "Brother From a Different Mother", the man cut from the same mold as me, the man who if we hung out more I would end up in jail with, the master of disaster, the true pimp, God's gift to women, Joel Cesare.
