Swansea High School Marching Band

The Swansea Tiger Marching band has been know on the State and National Levels. In 1999 the Swansea band made state finals for the first time and Won it. That contuined with 2 more 2A State titles in 2000 and 2001. The Swansea Tiger Marching Band are also the 2000, 2001, and 2002,and 2006 -- SCBDA AA Lower State Marching Band Champions. In 2001 the Swansea Tiger band was named a BOA Regional Finalist ((only SC AA school ever to make BOA finals)) in Johnson City, TN The Regional was held at East Tennessee State University. The band scored a 70.60 in Finals and was 10th place overall and 2 in Class A. Also in 2007 The Swansea Tiger Band traveled to St Petersburg for the Flordia BOA Regional and earned a supeior rating, the first ever. Swansea was also named the Mustang Classic Grand Champs reciving a Superior rating. Then they went to Boiling Springs and won class 4 with the titles of best music ex. . The drumline had the highest score over all and also the band had the highest visual ex. score. This year Swansea moved up and joined the ranks with the big boys. They finished 3rd at 3A lower state and 5th at 3A state (bad run)The band also recived a Superior Rating at Concert Festavial. It was the bands First Time Going in Class V!!!
