The Clover High School Marching Band is a constant frontrunner in state competition, and has began to make its mark on a nationwide basis. The Clover band program is one of only 4 bands in the state to place in the top 3 during state marching festival, for 4 years straight. The Clover Band has been 3a for many years, and met with great success on a statewide level. In 2006, the marching band moved into the even more competitive 4a class, where the placed 6th in the first season. The Clover Band had its most successful marching season in 2007, where they were declared Grand Champions at Boiling Springs, and The Olde English Festival of Bands, in Rock Hills, SC. The next week, they were made known on a regional basis, when they won class AA, and placed 2nd overall in finals in the presitgious Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions, losing only to Dobyns-Bennett, from TN. The Clover Band then went on to win upperstate for the first time in 21 years, and the next week won the 4a state championship, something that the band has not done in 25 years. The band remained undefeated in South Carolina, and beat bands from NC, GA, and VA, as well.
The Symphonic band at Clover High is dedicated to providing its students with education, as well as experience. The "top band" at Clover High received straight ones at state concert festival under class 6 masterworks during the 2005-2006 school year, and has recieved the OPA (Outstanding Performance Award) for 8 years straight. Only 3 bands attempted Grade 6-M music, and only 2 got straight ones. The Concert band recieved straight ones under class 4 music, during the 2004-2005 season. It was Clovers first season where both bands were awarded with Straight ones. In the 2007 Concert season, both bands continued their success, as the Concert Band yet again recieved straight 1s in class 4, and the Symphonic Band got straight 1's in class 6-M. They secured yet another OPA award. For the 2008 winter season, the band has been selected to perform at the SCMEA, a prestigious conference for music educators, held in Charleston.
The Clover Indoor Drumline recieved 1st in class at both SCBDA and CWEA circuits, in its first year of existence. The Clover drumline has been a constant powerhouse in South Carolina, placing first in caption at most competitions. In the 2007 winter drumline season, the drumline moved upto the highest class in CWEA and SCBDA, and placed 2nd in both circuits, with their thrilling and challenging show "Color Blind". The indoor drumline will continue its success in 2008.
The Color Guard has been successful as well. Through staff changes, the devoted members have strived to get better every year. The Winterguard was forced to take a year off for the 2007 season, due to staff changes, but will be back stronger than ever for the 2008 winter season.
