About Me
..DiGiTAL ROCKiT
DiGiTAL ROCKiT is a concept based on technology, the technology of music, visuals and cutting edge events.
The 3 DJ's involved have decided to take their performances to the next level by joining forces and embracing the latest technology. Live mixing of visuals, digital formats of music and incorporating effects and live music edits are all on the cards for their performances. The music is eclectic yet dance floor friendly with each Dj's personal quality and style creeping in to a mix of the highest order, to classify the music as electro or tech house or electronica would not do it justice, it is all that and more!
DiGiTAL ROCKiT are equally adept at the downtempo side of dance music and have the depth in music to satisfy any discerning crowd. The Dj's play on a 3 track rotation so the flow and energy is maintained, this is a performance that has to be experienced to appreciate!
DiGiTAL ROCKiT has recently completed a free covermount mix CD for the SA youth culture magazine SL. This is the first mix CD to be offered with the mag and will be available in July 2006.FabioFabio has 9 years of experience and his enthusiasm for the music has not wavered one bit.
Having spent 2 years in London (1998 2000) and worked in one of The Netherlands biggest and most respected record stores, Rare Records Eindhoven (2000), has allowed Fabio to put together a vast collection of dance music in many different genres.
Passionate about the music from Detroit drew Fabio to the Motor City in late 1999 where he met and spent time with pioneers in the Detroit Techno scene, an experience that ranks with his most profound.
His sound can best be described as melodic, electronic house tech house and electro but at the same time it is not limited to those genres.
In 2004 Fabio and Dogstarr started the Who Needs Sleep Tonite? series of events in Johannesburg that have since seen them bring out Isolée as their first international guest to play alongside DiGiTAL ROCKiT.DogstarrDogstarr started off with a residency at the popular Johannesburg party spot Foundation in Rosebank and has since developed a unique style of dance music that encompasses down tempo, 70s & 80s rare grooves and dance floor electronica.
Dogstarr also had the privilege of attended the Red Bull Music Academy in Cape Town in 2003, an experience he cherishes and rates as one of the best in his career.
Heavily influenced by the eclectic beats of the Rustlers Valley Easter Festival Dogstarr is an integral part of the festival as well as the sound of Who Needs Sleep Tonite?
As one of the founders of the night Dogstarrs vision and experience collided to create this unique night in Joburg club culture.G-ForceGraeme Hector, better known as G-Force, has been at the forefront of the South African dance scene for well over a decade, playing a vital role in the introduction of house and techno to these shores. He won the Technics Battle of the DJs in 1992, was behind the decks at legendary early warehouse parties and was the prime player at seminal nightspot 4th World.
As promoter hes been responsible for bringing out deejaying duos like the Inland Knights, Silicone Soul, Holloway and Eastwick, Bob Sinclar and DJ Yellow, Digs & Whoosh and Deep Dish. Also on his list of imports are Jef K, Eric Rug, Cyril K, Pete Heller, Josh Wink and Matthew Herbert, as well as Swirl People and Charles Webster, who both appear on this vibrant beat-scapade.
The ever-adventurous spinners skills have been recognized abroad, with Jef K inviting G-Force to play in France on two separate occasions at his Watch Out parties, which happen in the world-renowned Rex in Paris, as well as guesting for Yellow Records (home of Africanism & Bob Sinclar) at La Fabrique and at the infamous Pulp. In addition to spinning in Munich (at Rave City 2 with an attendance of about 20 000 eager partygoers!) and Zimbabwe, Graeme inflicted some local funk on UK dancefloors during a two-week tour in August 2002.
